After the death of Queen Helaena, you are called to be Aegon's second wife. However upon seeing the gravelly wounded king, you instead set your eyes on the Prince Regent, who matches your ambitions and hunger for power.
Chapter 2 ✶ Tyrants and Weaklings
The next few days were spent in prayers and nursing, and putting efforts in getting yourself in the Queen Mother's good graces. Grief was a painful companion, you supposed, and therefore you did not allow Queen Alicent’s cold welcome to deter you.
You were walking the steps her daughter had no doubt walked herself, and your mere presence was enough to remind the court that Queen Helaena no longer walked this earth.
In this spirit, you endeavored to make yourself useful but discreet. You could not be too quick to act, you would have to be patient and to make yourself indispensable while you endeavored to find out what truly was expected of you, and exceeding those expectations.
You took to tending to the king as though you were not worried for your position, simply devoted to your sovereign. Hard work did not scare you, and you were not afraid to toil for what you wanted. All things came to those who put in the effort, remained patient but ambitious, and watched out for opportunities.
The perfect opportunity for your rise in the world now slept in a bed, and hadn’t risen since you had arrived, but you could not let that deter you.
