I wanted to thank you for the podcast about your father, but maybe for a weird reason.
I've been following you and your work and commentary for quite a while, and your public persona is pretty universally upbeat, cheery, and enthusiastic. As far as I can tell, you've almost never even expressed displeasure in public. I find that this is true of a lot of friendly people who are the faces of brands, since you've got a job to do and you naturally want to keep some boundaries in place.
But this has always been a little at odds with how much you care about and talk about emotions and how emotionally driven you are (not to mention the fact that you're obviously a complex human who experiences all of the emotions we all do when the proverbial mic isn't recording).
It was very nice to get to see a different side of your emotional world. You're a role model for a lot of people - especially a lot of young men - and being willing to show such raw emotion without apologizing for it or being self conscious about it was a valuable thing to put into the world. So thanks.
Thank you. That was an important podcast for me to do. Iβm happy it was meaningful for you.
