I miss Castlevania already! I'm nervous but you all are making it possible for me to pursue a living drawing what I love. This means the absolute world to me. There's so much to do and I can't thank you enough!!

If you would like to support me in exchange for beautiful boys:

In the next few days, even! I'm really excited to share how my art gets made with you guys. I know it's been a long time coming for those who've been asking for this kind of thing ♥

I want you to know your art singlehandedly got me back into BG3. So thank you for making me love a dumbass wizard again xD

I fear we might never leave (I am not upset about this)

It just clicked for me but with your last Alucard repost (sorry I'm not entirely familiar with Castlevania plot) but I feel you kinda like vampires.

So why Halsin and not good old Astarion? Just curious...

Every vampire is different I guess, it's less about whether they're a vampire and more about whether I vibe with them as a character. I love Halsin's sincerity. Also he's large. His struggles with bearing the weight of responsibility before his time, continuing to wrestle with feeling like he was the wrong one but having a strong sense of duty about it anyway, and his need to try to fix the entire world when he just can't really spoke to me. It's a lot of things and a lot of reasons I love him so much.

Sadly a lot of your art (including Twitter links to NSFW art) is gone from our end or results in broken links, probably a result of the purge tumblr did a while back. It doesn’t seem to have been uploaded elsewhere or mentioned on Patreon </3

aah I'm sorry to hear :( It would be a hugely time-consuming project for me to go through and figure out which things are broken or hidden so I hope you understand. If you do the thing where you go "tagged/xyz" on my url then everything that can be seen will come up.

different anon: oh wow i've known you as lovely honey/halsin stuff that i genuinely forget i initially followed you for kylux stuff....how many years has it been *staring into the distance space*

kylux felt like a fever dream, it's been about 10 years

Anonymous asked:

Can I ask why you purged all your Kylux art? Sorry if this is an awkward question. I recently got back into the ship and finding your beautiful work gone from all platforms (as well as Sath’s writing 😭) made me so sad. Would you consider reposting your old art or selling it on your Patreon?

It's still there when I look, could be an issue on tumblr's end

Hello! I must admit that I already asked some questions before, cowardly anonymously but you're kinda my comfort artist so I hope you don't mind!

How do you keep motivation/focus with big artwork project? I'm on one big piece with multiples characters and kinda tricky lighting and the more I look at my artwork, the less sense it's making. Like it's not "bad" it's just not resonating as much as the first idea now that it's rendered.

And you draw nsfw (and I somehow think it's way harder!) so keeping the fresh new eye every time on a scene that's supposed to be solely focused on that particular moment must be very hard! Like focusing on trees leaves when you have Halsin and Clover having their little moment under them would frustrate me so bad lmao! I guess it's why a lot of artist don't bother much with backgrounds and details... (guilty)

Thank you for your insight!

I don't mind! It's pretty simple for me, when I'm stuck on a difficult part I know that if I don't figure it out then the drawing just doesn't get made. There's no other option than to figure out the difficult part. I've never given up on a piece that was hard because I'd rather have it get made than languish in my brain.

You can hammer away at something until it's closer to what you imagined or you can let it be, but part of that is knowing the difference. If I'm getting frustrated I'll step away for a couple hours or overnight and I'll come back with fresh eyes. That usually lets me either figure out what's wrong or helps me realize that it's actually fine and I was just tired and cranky.

Environments for me are important to have even if they're not my favorite part of creating. I just love the feeling of having my ideas fully realized in color and place. I also love rendering light on my characters and it feels weird to not have an environment to reflect it. It's more work but it's almost always worth it to me. I limit myself to spending 1-2 days on it because even if I'm not a master painter, I don't have to be to make an immersive and reasonably decent environment. I just don't want to pick at it! Anything I have after those 1-2 days will always get the job done and anything new I can learn in that time period is A+ with me. Unless they're in a very specific setting, I just want it to be filled out enough to not attract attention to itself by either having too much or too little, but to complete the feeling of the piece. I'll add important props but that's mainly what I go for.

Clover lore 🍀

Someone asked me questions so I get to talk

1. Clover sections his existence by time of day, but he's most aware of the changing of the seasons and the cycles of the moon. It was always a fun thing to point out as a child when the moon was new or full, and when he was alone, surviving the passing of winter was excruciating. Winter was long and he would learn to count the full moons before life began to creep back into the forest. Knowing he only had a few left before the frosts arrived again was also excruciating. Although he's tried, he isn't completely consistent; sometimes other things take priority. He'd only started marking moon cycles as he got a little older, so there were some dark periods. You might be able to guess his age by looking through the journal he keeps with him.

2. Clover doesn't talk much. In a way he does dislike his voice-- making noise has always been risk for him. He's really only spoken with intent when he's spellcasting, which was usually in a kill-or-be-killed or other stressful situation, so he long associated speaking with those feelings. He feels safest when he's quiet.

How well Halsin can read him depends on where they are in their relationship. Halsin's had to learn Clover's behavior and I think he's an emotionally-sensitive person. In the beginning it could be quite hard! Clover's cerebral and often unknown even to himself since it's second-nature for him to immediately push away his own needs and vulnerability. It's disorienting when his brain is still reading those situations as danger and the expected danger just doesn't come. It gets easier as they spend more time together and Halsin becomes more in tune to Clover's wants and quirks, body language, little signs he teaches Clover, etc.

3. Clover is completely nomadic, the only shelter he uses is one he can find in nature like hollow trees, caves, empty dens. It's dangerous to stay in one place and equally dangerous to leave a trail.
