Extra Worldy: The Unusual Works and Story of Robert Monroe
"I am more than my physical body, because I am more than physical matter" -Robert Monroe
There is a LOT to unpack with this guy and if you are intrested in astral projection, his work, or his story, please go and research!
Robert Monroe was from virginia and I would like to strongly note he had no religious background which makes his discoveries all the more interesting. Before the Monroe Institute, Robert had been a buisness man who ran a few small companies. As far as the era was, he was rather regular.
Robert Monroe in his middle-aged life began to experience "Out of Body Experiences" (OBE). They would happen right before he would go to bed and sometimes in the morning as he woke up. He at first dismissed them until they became more frequent. While he was out of body, he attempted a few ideas to see if what he was experiencing was real. After some of these (which can recalled in his first few entries in his book Journies out of the Body volume 1) he determined this was a real, supernatural event.
Soon Robert Monroe got some friends together, founded the Monroe Institute and even published a book (which he did not tell people in his personal life about) the book became a huge seller with his coworkers eventually reading and talking to him privately about the book
***there are 3 online you can read now and I super encourage it!
Eventually the CIA got involved in his research, the institute was black sited, his boon published, and became top secret until the 2010s under the Freedom of Information Act (FIA)
Robert Monroe's Journals
As Robert Monroe mastered the ability to journey in the Astral, he met spirits, realms and begins to write volume 2 and 3 privately. He describes angels, demons, pagan and hindu gods, even describing how Hinduism depicts Nirvana (without knowing what Nirvana is) even having spirits describe to him what the Abrahamic depiction of heaven is like. (We will be discussing what the spiritual world looks like in a later entry I promise)
Again lots to unpack so I recommend you read his journals yourself. What do yall think? :o
