in search of cozy spaces

All of my decor was in storage and I finally got it out this past weekend in order to decorate my room. Really digging how it came out! It’s a cute little eclectic haven ✨

A lot of you keep messaging me saying that I’m so lucky to have “such a big room.” Guys, I don’t. At all. My room is 10 feet by 11 feet— that’s itty-bitty. I just make it seem bigger by experimenting with different furniture layouts. You’d be shocked by how much you can fit into a room when you switch things up and think outside the box! For example, instead of putting a desk right up against the wall in the standard way, push one side against the wall and turn the front of it outwards (as I did in the pictures). This is an amazing space-saving trick! And also fill smaller spaces (like corners, for example) with small tables, which you can use for knickknacks and decorations. Work with wall space, too— shelves are your friends! Oh, and big tapestries can really make a room seem a lot more spacious. Your biggest ally is twinkle lights, though. They make bedrooms incredibly warm, inviting, and cozy!

I moved into my sister’s old bedroom this past week (I painted it and everything— it took me three. freaking. coats. So yeah, that was incredibly frustrating/exhausting, especially since I did it all by myself), but I have so much more space now & it’s super nice 😭
