Imagine waking up to the deafening roar of explosions, your tent shaking violently as the earth trembles beneath you. In an instant, everything is chaos—your children scream in terror, clutching onto you as you scramble to escape. The sky is filled with smoke and falling debris, the air thick with dust and panic. There is no time to think, no time to gather what little you have left. You run—barefoot, desperate, carrying your baby in your arms—praying that you will make it out alive.

Images: Hossam sent us images of what his family's tent looks like today after violent airstrikes in Gaza last night (03/17/2025).
Video: to further prove the validity of Hossam's story, we have included an Al Jazeera news report that Hossam sent to us, in which he briefly appears (at the 0:48 mark)

Story written by @rumiandroses

For Hossam Al-Qazzaz and his family, this nightmare became reality LAST NIGHT (03/17/2025) when an airstrike obliterated their tenttheir last refuge after losing their home, a casualty of the war in Gaza. With no shelter, no safety, and nowhere left to run, they are once again plunged into unimaginable uncertainty as the ceasefire in Gaza collapses and war reignites around them.

Hossam, a dedicated father of four, has already lost his home, his job, and his peace of mind due to the relentless bombardments in Gaza in the 15 months preceding the now,-collapsed ceasefire. Now, with nothing but debris around them, he, his wife Hanan, and their four children—Bashar (9), Hani (8), Diana (4), and 5-month-old Habiba—are now struggling to survive with no roof over their heads.

The suffering extends beyond Hossam, his wife, and his children. Hossam is also the sole caretaker of his elderly parents, aged 75 and 72, both in fragile health. His father is suffering from severe burns and urgently needs medical care, while his mother battles high blood pressure and requires constant attention. But with no home, no stable source of income, and skyrocketing prices for essentials like rice and cooking gas—driven by the border closures and the ban on goods entering Gaza—Hossam is trapped in an incredibly difficult and stressful situation.

Despite these unbearable challenges, Hossam is not asking for muchonly the money needed to survive, and to be able to evacuate to safety when the border crossing opens again.

"All we want is to live in dignity," Hossam pleads.

This is where you can make a difference. Every small donation—no matter how modest—can help provide food, clothing, and medical care for Hossam, Hanan, their children, and elderly parents. It can help ensure that Habiba gets the milk and diapers she desperately needs and that his family is not left out in the open with nowhere to turn.

Please, if you can, donate or share Hossam’s story today. Your support can be the difference between survival and despair.

Please consider donating to the Al-Qazzaz family’s original fundraiser to help them buy food and essentials and rebuild their tent:

Our founder, Bethany-Grace ( @rumiandroses ) is also sponsoring a fundraising campaign to help Hossam, Hanan and their entire family evacuate to safety. If everyone donates a little, we might be able to get them to safety the moment the border crossing opens again:

Together, we can ensure that Hossam's family does not just survive—but begins to rebuild a life of safety, stability, and hope.

Hossam’s campaign has been vetted by @gazavetters, and (#287) on their list of verified campaigns.

Hello my friend, my family has been scattered among our closest relatives because we became homeless after our tent was bombed. All I wish now is to rebuild my tent so I can reunite with my wife, children, father and mother. Donate to us to buy wood and nylon to rebuild our tent, you are our only hope, support us and donate please I am longing to hug my baby girl Habeeba and my sons Bashar, Hani and little Diana

Hello my friend, our tent was bombed, we miraculously escaped death, now we are homeless in the open, without clothes or food, my wife and children are staying with my wife's father and I am sleeping next to our destroyed tent. The details of the bombing of our house are in the pinned post, and documented with a video clip from Al Jazeera News Channel. Support us in this ordeal and donate to us to build a new tent so that my family and I can be together again, please, this is my greatest ambition now

Hello my friend, how are you? I hope you are well. Unfortunately, we are not well. The house next to us was bombed and our tent was completely destroyed. We miraculously survived, but we lost all our belongings. We are now without clothes, food, or any supplies. Please donate to us to buy clothes for my young children, nylon, and wood to rebuild our tent. Our tent was burned with all its contents, and we are in a very difficult situation. Please do not leave us. A small amount will end our suffering. I trust you. Please.

Help this family from Gaza!

SAVE 60 AFGHAN WOMEN LEADERS

Here's a brief summary of the petition:

On March 31, 2025, the Pakistani government is set for a mass deportation of Afghan people back to Afghanistan. Amongst them are 60 Afghan women, women rights defenders and their families, which face imprisonment, torture, and execution under the Taliban regime.

These women fought for their freedom. Now, they are running for their lives. If we don’t act, they will be deported into the hands of their oppressors. Sign and share now!

These women are human rights activists, defenders of women’s rights, and the future leadersof Afghanistan. They are determined to rebuild their country once Afghanistan is free from the Taliban. But if we do not act now, there will be no future for them.

Can you hear us? Can you feel what we’re going through? Fear. Hunger. Death. A never-ending siege. The silence of the world hurts as much as the bombs.

We're crying out to your humanity—please don't look away. Speak about us. Stand with us. We're not okay. We're trying to survive.

This is not a nightmare. It's our reality.

Don't forget us. Do something—anything. Share. Donate. Repost. Help keep us alive.

speaking to you with a heavy and painful heart. I am sorry that I had to ask for help from you, but what we are living is what pushed me to do this.

a 31-year-old living amidst the war in Gaza, a place deeply affected by conflict and hardship. I hold a Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences , I graduated with very good But Unfortunately, I did not get a job opportunity.

I am father to four beautiful children, My family consists of 6 individuals, My father , mother , Three girls and Three boys .

Before the outbreak of war, my family and I had a comfortable life in our beautiful home filled with cherished memories. However, since the conflict began, our lives have been turned upside down. We now find ourselves living in a small tent, exposed to the harsh elements and constant threat of violence.

Our home, which once embraced us, is now destroyed It became a remembrance

👉 Watch the video

A picture of me and my family in front of our destroyed house.

Our house was bombed in the 2008 escalation and we built it, and also in the 2014 escalation the house was destroyed again and we rebuilt it, and in this 2023/2024 war the house was also destroyed.

Every time we start again, the Israeli occupation destroys us again

Life is unbearable. It has become hell for us. destruction, no education, no future

We can't stand it anymore

The situation here is dire. Food and basic necessities are scarce, and famine and malnutrition have become rampant. Our lives are hanging by a thread, and we fear for the safety and well-being of our children every single day.

The cost of living here has become extremely high. All of our resources are going towards securing food and trying to escape from disaster, desperately seeking a lifeline.

We are yearning to escape this nightmare and rebuild our lives in a safe place.

However, the cost of traveling to a safer area was beyond our means.

Each ticket cost $5000 per person,

a sum that was impossible for us to bear. Now, the border crossing is closed, and things continue to worsen.

We want to collect donations to leave Gaza if the crossing opens

That's why I am reaching out to you, dear friends. Your generosity and compassion can make all the difference for me and my family. Your donations will enable us to flee this war-torn region and start anew, away from the horrors of conflict and instability.

Please, consider lending us a helping hand. Your support could mean the world to us and ensure the safety and future of my beloved family..

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering our plea.

Deadly blood cysts on her liver threaten her life at any moment, and emergency surgery is the only hope to save her, but the hospital is asking for $3,789an amount I have nothing of.

I see her in pain, crying silently, and fear fills her heart and ours. I don't want to lose her, I don't want the day to come when I live without her. Please, from the bottom of my soul, help me... any amount, it might save her from the death that is approaching every moment.

Don't skip 🚨Emergency

My name is Mahmoud Al-Halaq, from Palestine - Gaza - I am 29 years old. This message is addressed to every person who carries compassion, kindness, and love in their heart. After 470 days of war on Gaza, the destruction that has occurred, the displacement we have faced, moving from one place to another, and the loss and death of loved ones and friends, I found myself alone without a home or place, and even the prices of food are astronomical. The world has changed so much that life has become gloomy and boring. Therefore, I ask for your help in rebuilding myself, my life, and my family's life anew. You are our remaining hope in life. If there were an opportunity to work, I would not waste a minute nor ask for help from anyone, but I urgently need assistance for my family, my children, and the women to rebuild what has been destroyed and crushed in this devastating and painful war. Thank you for your time and support; we draw our strength and resilience from your support. 🍉

Holding Onto Memories 🎞️

✅️ Vetted by @gazavetters {537}✅️

There’s a strange thing about memories—sometimes, they feel like the only thing we have left. I close my eyes, and I can still see my family sitting around the dinner table, laughing at a joke my uncle made. I can still hear my mother calling me to come inside before it gets too late. I can still feel the warm sun on my face as I walked home from school, thinking about my next big dream.

Now, those moments feel like they belong to another life. The streets aren’t the same. The people aren’t the same. And I—I don’t know if I’m the same either. But I hold onto those memories so tightly because they remind me of who I am, of the love I’ve known, of the warmth that still exists somewhere in this world.

If you’re reading this, take a moment to appreciate the little things. Hug your family. Send a message to an old friend. Step outside and take a deep breath of fresh air. 🌿 These are the moments that matter. These are the things that make life beautiful.

No matter where life takes me, I’ll never stop cherishing the love that shaped me. And I hope, wherever you are, you never stop appreciating the love around you too. 💙

What Strength Really Means 💪

✅️ Vetted by @gazavetters {537}✅️

Hey everyone, my name is Abdelmajed. I don’t usually talk much about myself, but today, I want to share a little piece of my story.

I was born and raised in Gaza, a place that has always been my home 🏡. I grew up surrounded by my family, my friends, and the streets that I knew like the back of my hand. Life wasn’t always easy, but we had love, laughter, and dreams. I used to think that no matter what happened, home would always be here. But life has a way of changing things in ways we never expect.

Over the past months, everything I once knew has disappeared. The streets that were once filled with children playing are now silent. The houses that held so many memories are now just rubble. And the people I loved—some of them are gone forever. 💔

please don't forget that this ceasefire is just a reprieve from the ongoing genocide. we need to continue boycotting companies supporting the israeli occupation and show our solidarity towards our fellow humans in gaza. please please continue to care about all of this till the state of palestine is liberated.

gaza has faced a lot of damage in the last fifteen months. the sewage system has been destroyed. houses have been flattened forcing people to live in tents. hospitals are barely able to function. schools, offices, businesses, parks and so many other things have been turned into rubble.

it is crucial to help palestinians rebuild gaza during this ceasefire. i request you to support my friend alaa rebuild her home and provide her children with a roof. her fundraiser has been verified.
