RED and BLU Heavymedic hangouts

A few small headcannons:

  • Herbert is neat but messy and Fritz is messy but neat. Make sense?
  • Herbert invented the medigun + variants, Fritz invented the syringe gun + variants
  • Misha is more muscle than fat, Ivan is more fat than muscle (still very strong tho)
  • Misha is an academic and interested in understanding heavy weaponry and their intricacies, Ivan is an ex-convict whose interest in heavy weaponry is purely because it’s what he’s used to and good at
  • The friendship started with the medics but quickly the heavys became friends too. They go on double dates when they get days off from fighting
  • Herbert and Misha like to work out together while Fritz and Ivan prefer to lounge about together

WHATS THE BOOK 😛😛 PLEASE SHARE WITH THE CLASS IM CLAWING AT MY ENCLOSURE AND BANGING ON MYBARS 😢😢😛

I DID!

It's an danish biography of a german field medic. Really good but not the cute enemies-to-lovers i think some of you are hoping for

Anonymous asked:

i love your historical tf2 art! if i may ask, what was the book that inspired it?

Thank you!

The book that began my au is a danish book called “Det Ensomme Hjerte” (the lonely heart) by Tom Buk-Swienty. It’s a biography, sort of. A German doctor living in Denmark dies and his children discover he’s has written his whole life story down in several books. It documents his time in ww2 as a field medic in the German army and what he experienced on the eastern front fighting the Russians.

He’s not sold by the nazi ideology but is drafted, like most young men at the time, to fight anyway. In one chapter he is in charge of Russian war prisoners and he asks them simply “Stalin?” To which they shake their heads and grimace. He understands then that they didn’t ask for this any more than he did and it inspired me to make the tf2 au. Also generally the other things he did as a medic.

I don’t know it the book is translated into English, though, if you’d wanna read it.

The other book I’m reading is called “Blood Red Snow: Memories of a German Soldier on the Eastern Front” which is in English and also quite good. Gave me the more day-to-day perspective of a soldier who DID believe in the glory of Germany and all that. Other books too but these are the main ones.

[WIP] Drawing sniper's van. The details is killing me

welp i pretty much redrew the whole thing. It was too long compared to the actual model before. Tho now it's much more cramped (how can sniper lives in this?!?).

Also moved the counters and bathroom to the left side

Can't forget Sir Hootsalot! (Is it sanitary to have a bird perch above the stove?!) Still figuring out the color palette,,,

He now has appropriate "welcome" mat :)

Some TF2 headcannons

RED team is a mix of cannon and headcannon. It’s what I know from the “meet the” videos, comics and game dialogue. BLU team is basically all ocs at this point but I kinda like them. Have grown quite fond of Fritz and Ivan especially. More about them in the future

Team Fortress 2 Mercenary Ages - given all of the canon information we know!

Scout - 27

In the TF2 Comic “The Naked and the Dead,” Spy (Scout’s biological father) states that Scout was conceived 27 years ago, making Scout 27. This is the only 100% confirmed age.

Soldier - mid 40s to early 50s

It’s stated in Soldier’s description that he attempted to join the army during WWII. If we assume Soldier was a young adult when he attempted to enlist, he would now be in his mid 40s to early 50s during the events of TF2.

Pyro - unknown

There is very little information out there on Pyro. It would be impossible for me to accurately identify their age.

Demoman - mid 30s

The only information I have in regards to demoman’s age comes from a line his mother says in the book “Valve Presents Volume 1: The Sacrifice and Other Steam-Powered Stories” in which Demo’s mother remarks: “No demoman worth his Sulfur ever had an eye in his head past thirty!” Which means Demo is most likely somewhere in his 30s.

Heavy - mid 40s to early 50s

In the update comic “Meet the Director,” it is revealed that Heavy was sent to a North Siberian Gulag in September 1941 alongside his mother and sisters. Heavy also canonically has a PhD in Russian literature, as revealed through his dialogue in the game ‘Poker Night at the Inventory.’ It would take around 9 years to obtain that PhD, meaning- depending on if he obtained the degree before or after 1941, he would be either in his mid 40s or early 50s.

Engineer - early to mid 30s

Engineer designed and built the Sentry under contract from TF industries in 1965, with him also spending 10 years in the West Texas oil fields- assuming Engineer was 18 before this date, he would be in his early to mid 30s during the events of TF2.

Medic - late 30s to early 40s

Medic’s description explicitly states that he was “Raised in Stuttgart, Germany during an era when the Hippocratic oath had been downgraded to an optional Hippocratic suggestion,” This implies that Medic was brought up during, or just before, WWII. The word ‘raised’ heavily implies the Medic to still be in adolescence during this era, making him surprisingly younger than expected, with him being around his late 30s to very early 40s during Team Fortress 2.

Sniper - early 30s

In the Team Fortress 2 comic ‘Blood in the Water’, Miss Pauling directly states that New Zealand sunk 40 years ago- in the same comic, Sniper is shown as a baby in a flashback, 10 years after New Zealand sunk. This makes Sniper out to be 30 or 31 in the TF2 present.

Spy - unknown, estimated early-mid 50s

Given Spy’s secretive nature, it’s difficult to deduct how old he is. However, since he has a 27 year old son, it’s likely that he is in his mid 50s. There is a single comic panel (Found in ‘Unhappy Returns’) depicting Spy’s hair to have a grey tint to it, further emphasising this fact.

I am now your biggest fan and I have enough HeavyMedic prompts to kill a man

May I request HeavyMedic wedding?

Oooh I loved working on this!

Some thoughts:

  • RED medic and BLU medic are good friends and have been throughout the war. They meet and discuss medicine on their days off and enjoy talking to someone similarly insane and non judgmental about keeping body parts in fridges.
  • BLU medic, Fritz, is married to BLU heavy, Ivan and come as a couple. Misha and Ivan are not close friends but do enjoy talking, although Ivan is less interested in Russian literature and more into music.
  • All of RED team is invited and can bring a +1 if they want to.
  • Demo brings his boyfriend good friend BLU soldier, John, who is generally more chill although incredibly paranoid. John is very nervous about being surrounded by so many enemies but as long as Tavish is within touching distance he’s alright. heavy and medic being there helps too.
  • Also John is almost deaf and has to wear hearing aids.
