Growing up I always watched movies, documentaries, tv shows and read books about atrocities committed by people in history and thought.. how did this happen and why did no one do anything? Why did governments not intervene? Why did public figures not speak out? How did they get away with it? it? Most importantly how did human treat other humans like that? Where was the compassion?

I'm ashamed to say that in 2024 I now have the answers. The government's gas lighting and complicity, the media dehumanising, ignoring and bias reporting, the huge companies funding and supporting, the public figures choosing to stay silent, the ordinary person pretending "they don't know enough" this is how we've allowed this to happen time and time again..

In the past we could forgive people for not having enough information, not having access to it, not being able to hear the stories of the horrors, to be able to see it with their own eyes..

In 2024 you can't pretend you "don't know enough" you can't pretend you don't see innocent children, men, and women being brutally killed by sadistic, genocidal leaders and their war crimes.. you can't ignore the 100's and 1000's of videos, images, stories and people who are telling you what is happening.. the sheer horror of images we are seeing.. you can't ignore the countless protests, discourse, conversations, posts, live feeds etc.. history will judge your inaction, your silence, your ignorance..

This is not a war.. this is a genocide.. this is massacre.. there are no sides..

Also please don't forget the innocent people suffering in Sudan and Congo they need our voices too!

museums should be open till like midnight, i don't want to go to the club i want to go look at art or fossils.

If youโ€™re unemployed, itโ€™s not because there isnโ€™t any work.

Just look around: A housing shortage, crime, pollution; we need better schools and parks. Whatever our needs, they all require work. And as long as we have unsatisfied needs, thereโ€™s work to be done.

So ask yourself, what kind of world has work but no jobs? Itโ€™s a world where work is not related to satisfying our needs, a world where work is only related to satisfying the profit needs of business.

This country was not built by the huge corporations or government bureaucracies. It was built by people who work. And, it is working people who should control the work to be done. Yet, as long as employment is tied to somebody elseโ€™s profits, the work wonโ€™t get done.

israel tries to hide its military failures and losses by murdering children and civilians in their tents so they can have a *number of casualties* to report with and pretend they did something.

In case you missed it:

Yesterday, the US House voted to hide Gaza death toll statistics.

This is far more than just institutional genocide denial.

This is one half of American Congress giving a foreign nation green light to kill: with billions of dollars and a blind eye.

(This measure, if passed in Senate, would make it illegal for the US State Department to cite genocide statistics.)

In other words, illegal to do its job.

Denial is key part of committing a genocide. The USA is working through all the stages.

There are no words to describe the hunger that people are enduring in Gaza, according to Ali, a Palestinian in Gaza.

Residents of the Palestinian enclave say Israeli authorities are severely restricting life-saving food deliveries once again, bringing back the extreme conditions experienced in March, leading to the death of at least four children from malnutrition just last week.

The UN's hunger monitoring system, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), released a report on Tuesday showing that a "high risk of famine persists across the whole Gaza Strip".

The report said more than 20% of the Palestinian enclave's population, over 495,000, are now facing "catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity" involving "an extreme lack of food, starvation, and exhaustion".

The IPC found that while aid deliveries to northern Gaza increased in March and April, and found their way to the south too, the situation had deteriorated in recent weeks.

The report found that over half of households in Gaza reported that they often have no food to eat in the house, and over 20% go entire days and nights without eating.

"We don't know how much more can we endure of this," says Ali. "Every day we fall apart and break down. Every day is worse than the day before it."

It's actually really frightening to see officially sanctioned genocide denial rise up in Western countries in real time. Like, I remember 20 years ago hearing about how it was illegal in Turkey to point out that the Armenian Genocide happened, and how I thought that that was fucking evil and oppressive. Now here we are, with a campaign in Gaza that experts have called 'a textbook case of genocide', for which the UN Human Rights counsel has determined there are "reasonable grounds" to call it genocide, and the US Congress is trying to make it illegal to criticize Israel. We have Hollywood agencies refusing to represent anyone who points out that a genocide is currently taking place. And it's just the same shit from a fresh asshole as we got from the Turkish government over what happened in Armenia in the 1920s, like "Oh yes, there were killings, but...calling it genocide? Ohhhh, you must be very hateful to our poor little nation to think that our people are capable of that ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿ˜ญ!" Fuck off.
