small ears, big listen

@thebuni

Crow: I am stealth. I move like night. I steal from you and leave no trace. Was I even here? Who can tell....

Me: Look, I...I love you, you know that, but I opened the window, I put the food out, I made direct eye contact with you, I whistled the whistle that we both know means Grub's Up, and then I stepped back so you wouldn't pretend to be spooked. Also you sound like a herd of elephants landing on that pipe. Also you shouted at the magpies who were, and I cannot stress this enough, up until then not even aware of the food. You are as subtle as a tank. I love you. Now eat your chicken fat before the magpies muscle in.

Crow:....I am the Night.

Me: It's 3:00 in the afternoon.

Me: I have agreed to meet my friend tomorrow at a mutually central station at 16:30.

My Brain: Check.

Me: I've done the journey in 20 minutes before but you never know, if I miss one train it's 5-6 minutes wait, plus switching platforms, so l reckon give it half an hour?

My Brain: Check.

Me: So I should really leave the house at.....

My Brain: Yesterday. 2:00pm.

Me: I....I don't think that's....

My Brain: 11:00pm. Now. Thursday at 6:00. You should definitely leave by 10:30 that morning.

Me: ...that doesn't sound right but I don't have enough time-awareness to dispute it.

Fingal's Cave is a geological formation located on the uninhabited island of Staffa, in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland.

It is known for its extraordinary structure of hexagonal basalt columns, which were formed from rapidly cooled volcanic lava millions of years ago. The cave is approximately 72 meters long and is notable for its natural acoustics, giving it a cathedral-like quality.

Apropos of nothing much: yes, I stood in here and sang Pippin's Walking Song to test the acoustics (my friends gave a 2-part harmony go of Gaudete). Can recommend....
