what is your favorite song from the sonic games? I like lights camera action lol

Avatar

Oh Lights Camera Action is so good. Sonic has so much amazing music and I'm so incredibly indecisive. There are too many to choose from... I'm going to cheat and give more than one answer...

Escape the City (City Escape) - Sonic Adventure 2 < the first one that always comes to mind alongside Live & Learn.

Stardust Speedway Bad Future is a favourite simply because it plays every time my favourite character shows up. It just has that :D!!!!!!!!!!!! kind of association for me.

Other contenders for favourite song are Marble Zone and Chemical Plant Zone (act1). They have the Sounds yk?

Went through your "sth & tmnt xover" tag, and, um... Where's Knuckles? Is Raph stepping in as Knuckles? Orrrrrrr??????.....

He is on Angel Island! He's gotta protect the Master Emerald! My guy can't just abandon that thing every time Sonic decides to go on an adventure!

He is minorly present in the AU because I couldn't leave some of my favs out. In the background of the narrative Doctor Eggman sends Metal Sonic off to retrieve the last two Chaos Emeralds. One of said emeralds is in the possession of Silver, who is visiting Angel Island, and Knuckles, who is reluctantly having fun showing the guy around.

So yeah, Knuckles isn't present in the larger AU, it just didn't make sense for him to be there, but he and Silver are responsible for how beat up Metal looks during one of the later confrontations with Sonic & Leo.

dropping in to say that you reblogging the art you did of Raph and Hellboy was the final push to make me finally read the Hellboy comics. been thinking about it for ages. i think i found an omnibus that will start me in the right place and now i'm Going To Do It

WOOO!! I hope you enjoy!!! I haven't yet managed to find/read a good chunk of the comics myself, but oooh I'm such a huge fan of Mike Mignola's writing and art style.

I know on your other blog you mentioned rise raph is one of your favorites what’s your opinion on the 03 version of him

I grew up with 03 and I'll be honest, Raph had remained my least favourite turtle for more than a decade... but

I'm not really sure how he got here, but 03 Raph has been my favourite for the past 6 months. I am no good at sorting my thoughts out through words, but have so many ideas for comics centered around this guy.

What programs do you use for your work? And, how did you learn to use them (i.e. tutorials? classes?)

I’m such a huge fan dude, wonderful work. Congrats on the Andy shoutout!!

Avatar

thank you!! Getting a shoutout was pretty intimidating tbh, but an interesting experience for sure :D

For programs, I have been using ClipStudioPaint (EX) for the past 3 years, and before that, Photoshop for about 2 years.

I learned the basics of digital art in Photoshop (layers, masks, basic tools) from my college art program, so I don't have online tutorials or classes to recommend. When I switched to CSP, the knowledge & basics mostly carried over, and I figured the rest out on my own from there by trial & error.

My favourite way to learn CSP was by watching a streamer draw, noticing them do something new with the program, having a "WAIT, how did they just do that!?" moment, and then trying to figure out how to replicate it.

CSP users, did you know that when painting, instead of switching to an eraser, you can just press "C" for transparent colour and use your nice textured brush as an eraser. I learned that one a year ago, and it changed my life. (it doesn't work well for raster layers)
