Hey Chris, has Bernie Sanders ever been the nominee running against Trump in a presidential election? I just find it interesting that you would choose him for this hypothetical rather than, you know, the actual candidate who ran against Trump in 2024 and came brutally close to pulling it off despite all odds. Wonder why that is!

Like why are we contorting ourselves to prop up an alternate timeline in which Sanders was the 2024 nominee as a counterfactual instead of just naming the actual candidate who ran against Trump? What does this serve, other than erase Harris from the conversation and subtly delegitimize her?
