I hope this isn't a stupid question, but why is it so bad to draw Lily's "wholesome" character, even if it's for stealing/redesigning purposes? Like.. and again, I'm sorry if this is obvious, but it's something I've seen a lot of in art spaces, people redesigning or rewriting bad stories/characters (bad meaning both unrefined writing and hateful writing/author), and I haven't come across anyone expressing any distaste for it before now? Wasn't there also someone rewriting the Madhouse comic, what's your opinion on that? Like is there a line somewhere that's crossed with the wholesome girl but not with the madhouse rewrite?

Sorry, I hope this doesn't come off as provocative, I'm just not seeing the issue so I was hoping to have some light shed on it, it might be obvious when it's explained /gen <3

Fan behavior is fan behavior. Disconnected from everything, it just looks like you're a fan and people who don't know will see it and get involved and continue the fan behavior not knowing. You're giving them a space they don't deserve, support they don't deserve. People who keep doing this shit are a part of the problem.

Don't rewrite it. Don't redraw it. Let this trash be forgotten the way it deserves and create something original not tied to Lily and her pedophilia and incest. You are tying yourself to her and her work and what she's done in perpetuality.

I told the person rewriting Madhouse it was fan behavior and to cut it out, hell I've told multiple people rewriting and drawing her work the same thing. I've talked about this repeatedly so lets not pretend I haven't.

Don't touch the shit, don't interact with Lily and Mikay. Don't interact with their work. Stop being a fan. Hating her doesn't change what the behavior is. You can't improve what is ultimately her revictimizing her victims so she can get off on it.

You're playing with Lily's porn.

For the same reason you wouldn't want to contribute to JK Rowling.

Exactly.

Agreed. Besides, if there's any Lily Orchard characters people should be making fanart for, it's these two:

Lily's Tactic of Labeling Critics as "Stalkers"

A critical component of Lily’s manipulative tactics is her pattern of branding any and all critics as "stalkers." This isn’t just a defensive response — it’s an intentional and calculated method designed to control her audience's perception of the world around them. By labeling her critics this way, Lily isolates her viewers, keeps them distrustful of outside information, and manipulates them into believing her word above all else.

But this tactic is especially effective because of the audience Lily has cultivated. As we’ve discussed before, a significant portion of Lily’s followers are neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, survivors of abuse, or struggling with mental health issues. These are groups that are often vulnerable to manipulation, particularly when someone claims to be looking out for their well-being. By framing herself as a voice of reason and support — and her critics as malicious stalkers — Lily creates an environment where her audience feels safe with her and her alone.

How the "Stalker" Narrative Works

Lily’s tendency to label her critics as stalkers serves multiple strategic purposes that all connect back to her broader manipulative behaviors:

  1. It fuels her "Us vs. Them" mentality. Lily thrives on conflict. She's built her platform on a persona that emphasizes aggression and defiance — positioning herself as someone who "fights back" against perceived injustices. By framing her critics as stalkers, she reinforces this narrative. It creates a clear division: her audience = the righteous defenders, her critics = obsessive bullies. This taps into the protective instincts of her marginalized and vulnerable followers, many of whom are deeply loyal because they believe they’re standing up for someone who’s under attack.
  2. It discourages her audience from fact-checking her claims. Because Lily encourages her fans to distrust her critics before they even hear what they have to say, she effectively shuts down independent thought. If her audience believes that her critics are “dangerous stalkers,” they won’t engage with the content those critics produce — no matter how well-sourced or reasonable it may be. This creates an echo chamber where Lily’s word is the only one that matters. This ties back to her audience’s marginalized backgrounds. Many of her viewers have been conditioned by past trauma to cling tightly to people who appear trustworthy. Lily exploits that vulnerability, positioning herself as someone looking out for them while casting her critics as threats.
  3. It shields her from accountability. Lily's critics have repeatedly provided concrete evidence of her manipulative behavior, dishonesty, and cruelty — but rather than confront this, Lily dismisses it all as harassment. By branding her critics as stalkers, she reframes herself as a victim and avoids addressing valid concerns. In doing so, she fosters an environment where her followers instinctively defend her without ever seeing the evidence for themselves.
  4. It reinforces her desire for control. As we’ve established before, Lily is a control freak. She surrounds herself with people she can manipulate — hence why her Discord server is tightly monitored, why she’s the sole voice of authority in her spaces, and why she consistently rewrites history to fit her preferred narrative. If her audience were to start questioning her, that control would weaken. By framing critics as stalkers, Lily keeps her audience distrustful of outside information — ensuring she remains their only trusted source.

The Link to Her Audience’s Vulnerabilities

Because Lily’s audience is largely made up of marginalized and neurodivergent individuals, this manipulation hits even harder. Many neurodivergent people — especially those with conditions like autism or ADHD — struggle with social nuance and may take Lily’s claims at face value. If Lily says someone is a stalker, they may instinctively believe her without seeking further context.

Moreover, many members of her audience are people who have faced discrimination, bullying, or social isolation. By exploiting their past traumas, Lily weaponizes their instinct to protect people they perceive as victims. Since she constantly presents herself as under attack, her viewers are quick to defend her — even at the cost of ignoring valid concerns.

The Pattern of Retaliation

This manipulation ties directly back to Lily’s refusal to take the high road. As we've discussed, Lily thrives on conflict. In her mind, retaliation is always justified — no matter how disproportionate or dishonest. By convincing her audience that her critics are obsessive stalkers, Lily paints herself as justified in taking extreme measures against them. This is how she justifies:

  • Encouraging mass reporting of her critics.
  • Filing false copyright strikes against Sai and Ant.
  • Contemplating spamming her critics’ phone numbers and emails.
  • Editing streams to hide her most aggressive behavior.

In Lily’s mind, none of these actions are “wrong” because she’s convinced her audience that her critics deserve it.

The Bigger Picture

The "stalker" narrative isn't just a convenient excuse — it's a deliberate method of control. It allows Lily to:

  • Rewrite her own past behavior. If her critics are stalkers, their evidence can be dismissed as malicious lies.
  • Silence valid criticism. If her audience won’t engage with her critics, they won’t learn about her established patterns of dishonesty, manipulation, and cruelty.
  • Keep her audience dependent on her. By convincing her followers that she’s their only trustworthy source, Lily ensures their continued loyalty — and prevents them from forming their own conclusions.

In the end, Lily’s reliance on this tactic reveals just how insecure her influence really is. If she were confident in her behavior, she wouldn’t need to convince her audience that anyone questioning her is a dangerous stalker. Instead, she crafts an environment where blind loyalty is the only acceptable response — all while claiming her critics are the ones engaging in manipulation.

It appears that Mikaila Orchard is clinging to the "Catra and Adora from She-Ra are siblings" narrative during her wife's extended sabbatical from tumblr.

Normally we wouldn't respond to this sort of thing, this is a LilyCrit blog, not a Lily And Associates Crit blog. However, given that the debunking of the first "official image" is the most popular post on this blog so far, it would be remiss of us to not address the second image as well.

"Catra and Adora were both orphans and were close growing up in the Horde; they thought of themselves as sisters."

Boy, if I had a nickel... ahem, anyways.

As best as we can tell (without spending $10 USD to buy the paperback and confirm), this image comes from either Origin of a Hero, or one of its sequels in the Scholastic series of She-Ra books:

"Origin of a Hero" is a children's tie-in novella written by Tracey West, a prolific author who has, by her own admission, written over 400 books for children. While this is certainly an impressive accomplishment, it should be noted that Tracey West has never been a member of Dreamworks staff.

As such, "Origin of a Hero" and its sequels should be treated as Secondary Sources, likely to present information that is slightly inconsistent with the primary work. When there are inconsistencies between the information presented in the book, and information presented in the show, information from the show takes precedence.

And since this quotation from N.D. Stevenson is a) provided by a Primary Source on She-Ra's development, and b) still bloody relevant:

A quick note on Lily's rebrand to CD-Call; was it planned?

(spoiler alert: it was not)

Ok, so as we all remember, Lily's tumblr account was (temporarily) taken down on the 9th of February, 2025. On the same day, Lily rebranded her Youtube channel and related accounts (Twitch, Patreon and Bluesky) to CD-Call, in a move that, according to Lily, had been "in the pipeline for a while":

Now, it's likely that Lily had been ruminating on a name change for a while. After all, the name "Lily Orchard" has acquired a lot of baggage in the last 7 years. However, I personally suspect that the decision to rebrand to CD-Call was made on February 9th, and no earlier. Why? Well, on February 8th, in a stream that is still available to watch on Lily's Youtube channel (as of this posting), Lily was writing the script for her next video:

"Lily, aren't you going to do an episode on Moon Girl?" - "Lily, you're a trans Youtuber, now bark for my amusement." Just for posterity's sake, the segment from the finished video:

If the rebrand was planned, then I find it peculiar how Lily felt it necessary to obscure any sign of the rebrand up until the day it occurred, and furthermore, how quickly and completely she has dropped any trace of her prior moniker. This was not a planned move. This was a panic move.

Lily's Lies and Revisionist History

Lily’s constant contradictions and revisionist history are a hallmark of her manipulation tactics. She has no consistent narrative—she just says whatever is most convenient for her at the moment.

Take Stockholm, for example. Her stance on it has changed so many times:

  • Admitted to writing it.
  • Denied writing it.
  • Claimed it’s just people falsely attaching her name to it.
  • Said maybe she wrote it, but it’s not a big deal.
  • Gone back to denying it again.

The reason she constantly shifts her story is because she can’t figure out what the least damaging answer is. She doesn’t want to admit to writing a fanfiction that glorifies incest and underage relationships (especially when her own sister has made accusations against her), but she also knows her name is attached to it and that people have receipts. So she keeps scrambling for an explanation that will stick.

She cycles through different versions of reality depending on what she thinks will benefit her most at any given time. The same applies to the Tara Callie situation.

  • Tara was real but got arrested for CP.
  • Lily beat her up in prison.
  • And somehow, the guards just... let that happen?

Lily’s entire defense strategy hinges on two things: deleting, contradicting, and rewriting her own history, and making sure her audience never questions her enough to notice.

The Goal: Confuse, Obfuscate, Distract

Lily isn’t trying to tell a convincing story. She’s trying to overload the conversation with so much contradiction, noise, and revision that it becomes exhausting to follow.

If someone calls her out, she:

  1. Deletes anything incriminating.
  2. Pretends it never happened.
  3. Contradicts herself when necessary.
  4. Calls her critics stalkers, transphobes, or abusers.
  5. Moves the goalposts (e.g., "Why are you even focusing on this? It doesn’t matter.").

Why Her Audience Falls for It

Most of Lily’s most devoted fans aren’t people who carefully follow evidence. They’re often:

  • Former abuse victims who deeply relate to Lily’s “survivor” narrative.
  • Neurodivergent people who struggle with gray areas and may take her words at face value.
  • People with depression and mental health struggles who see her as a guiding voice.
  • LGBT+ people who are quick to believe her accusations of transphobia and bigotry.

When she contradicts herself, her audience doesn’t think, “Wait, that’s not what she said last month.” Instead, they think, “Lily is constantly under attack, of course she’s frustrated,” or “This is just another smear campaign against her.”

And that’s how she gets away with it.

None of it makes sense. It’s completely absurd. But she knows that her followers aren’t actually going to stop and think about the contradictions.

Lily relies on the fact that people don’t archive everything she says. But unfortunately for her, her critics do. That’s why they screenshot, record, and document everything. They’ve learned that Lily’s modus operandi is to rewrite history whenever it suits her.

She’ll delete messages, change her story, and pretend things never happened—all so she can claim that any accusations against her are fabricated. And when that doesn’t work, she just resorts to smearing her critics by calling them transphobic, stalkers, or abusers themselves.

The whole reason she hates her “stalkers” so much isn’t just because they criticize her—it’s because they’re keeping receipts. They’re exposing the fact that she cannot keep her own lies straight.

How Lily Draws In Her Audience

One of the more disturbing aspects of Lily’s influence is that she specifically attracts people who are vulnerable—people who have been abused, marginalized, or mistreated—and then weaponizes that against them.

For abuse survivors, especially those who are still healing, it’s easy to latch onto someone who speaks with absolute certainty. Lily presents herself as someone who’s been through it all, who knows what abuse looks like, who sees through manipulation—but in reality, she just demands blind loyalty and paints anyone who questions her as an abuser.

A few ways she traps people:

  • She presents herself as an authority on abuse. Since many of her fans are survivors, they naturally trust her judgment. But she exploits that by redefining abuse to suit her needs, convincing them that anyone who criticizes her must be an abuser.
  • She provides a "safe space"… that’s actually a trap. The more people invest in her community, the harder it is to leave. If they start questioning her, they risk losing their entire support system.
  • She feeds into their fears and trauma. Many of her fans have a deep fear of being manipulated again. Instead of helping them build healthy skepticism, she teaches them to see her enemies as manipulators while blindly trusting her.
  • She isolates people from outside perspectives. Any criticism of her is framed as “transphobia,” “abuse apologism,” or “bad faith.” This keeps people locked into her narrative because they fear being seen as bigots or enablers.

Lily also specifically appeals to neurodivergent and LGBT+ fans by framing herself as a champion for marginalized groups—someone who "tells it like it is" and "fights for the oppressed." But in reality, she weaponizes their experiences and struggles to keep them under her control.

How She Hooks Neurodivergent Fans

A lot of neurodivergent people, especially autistic folks, struggle with black-and-white thinking, difficulty navigating social nuance, and a strong sense of justice. Lily exploits these traits by:

  • Presenting herself as a voice of moral clarity. Many ND people prefer clear-cut rules over messy social politics. Lily gives them that by framing every situation as good vs. evil.
  • Encouraging "righteous" anger. Many ND people have been dismissed, gaslit, or ignored in real life. Lily taps into that frustration, making them feel validated—while directing their anger toward her enemies.
  • Punishing critical thinking. If someone questions her, she dismisses them as "brainwashed," "supporting abusers," or "part of the problem." Since ND people can already struggle with social cues, they may second-guess their own instincts and default to trusting her version of events.
  • Using a rigid rule system. Her community operates on a set of unspoken but harsh, inflexible rules. Break one, and you’re ostracized. Many ND people follow strict rules in social settings to avoid conflict, so they adapt to Lily’s without realizing they’re being manipulated.

How She Hooks LGBT+ Fans

Lily markets herself as an unapologetic trans woman who doesn’t care what cis people think. This attracts other trans and queer people, many of whom have faced discrimination and feel like they have to “play nice” in society. Lily offers them an alternative:

  • "You don’t have to be polite anymore." She encourages LGBT+ fans to be openly hostile to their critics. This is appealing to people who have been bullied, harassed, or discriminated against. But instead of healthy boundary-setting, Lily fosters a siege mentality—"you’re either with us or against us."
  • Weaponizing transphobia accusations. Any criticism of her, no matter how valid, is labeled transphobic. This makes her LGBT+ fans afraid to question her, because they don’t want to be seen as betraying another queer person.
  • Claiming she understands LGBT+ oppression better than anyone. She dismisses any queer person who criticizes her. She uses this as a way to delegitimize her LGBT+ critics—even though many of them respect her identity but simply disagree with her behavior.

Lily’s entire mode of operation hinges on controlling the narrative. She doesn’t present arguments—she declares facts and expects her audience to accept them without question. If you challenge her version of events, you aren’t just wrong in her eyes; you’re malicious, an enemy, a “stalker,” or a “bad faith actor.”

This is why she never provides evidence or proof for her claims. She doesn’t feel she needs to. Her authority as a figure in her community is enough for her followers. If Lily says something, then it’s true by default. Any contradictions or inconsistencies get hand-waved away because her fans trust her, not facts.

Her black-and-white mindset reinforces this. There is no room for nuance in her world. Either you support her fully or you’re against her completely. There’s no middle ground. This ensures that even when people start noticing inconsistencies, they’re unlikely to speak up for fear of being branded as part of the enemy camp. It’s easier to rationalize the contradictions than to risk being exiled.

This same strategy applies across all aspects of her behavior. She tells her fans Joon the King’s documentary is just drama and should be ignored—so they ignore it, despite the fact that it presents mountains of evidence.

This is why Lily thinks she can lie so freely. She assumes her audience won’t remember or care if she contradicts herself. And in many cases, she’s right. Because she’s conditioned them to trust her above all else.

Comparing the various uploads of "Don't Move"

Content Warning: this post discusses and references "Don't Move", a work of fiction to which the following content warnings were provided: "Implied Rape, Implied Incest, Abuse, Gaslighting, Victim Blaming, Internalized Victim Blaming, Dead Dove Do Not Eat" On February 13th, 2025, Lily Orchard/CD-Call released "Don't Move" to her tumblr. "Don't Move" is a fictionalized account of what she claims is abuse suffered at the hands of her younger sibling Courtney. When Lily's tumblr was terminated by staff (perhaps permanently, this time) she uploaded the work to her Archive Of Our Own account instead.

Lily claims that despite being published in 2025, "Don't Move" was written in 2021, and would therefore predate Courtney's own allegations of child sexual assault at the hands of Lily. As many have accused Lily of fabricating any claims of sexual assault as a means to discredit Courtney, the implication is that Don't Move is evidence towards Lily's own claims.

There is no way to verify the original authorship date of "Don't Move", and any evidence Lily could produce regarding the document's creation date can be easily fabricated.

However, it is worth noting that there are differences in the text between every version of "Don't Move" publicly uploaded so far; differences that suggest the story was being revised (if not actively worked on) as recently as 2025.

"The screenshot of the She-Ra artbook", you say? This screenshot that you've thrown about before? This screenshot of a highly blurry page with no context or authorial credits?

That's really funny, because... She-Ra and the Princess of Power never had an official artbook. Certainly none written or compiled by N.D. Stevenson. There were plans to assemble an unofficial artbook at one point - I don't believe this ever went to print, but you can tell that the design style is nothing like the above

So... where does the "Catradora are sisters" image come from then? I did a touch of digging and found this:

(Image links to tumblr post that goes into a little more detail) So this was a picture in a New York Times article (link to an archived version, which unfortunately doesn't include said image although you can see where it would go). Rather than an artbook, these are... pieces of paper on a wall? Oh! This is from a media day that predates the airing of the first season. It has nothing to do with an artbook, and we have no idea who in the She-Ra staff would have written these blurbs or assembled these pages. We certainly cannot say that it was written by N.D. Stevenson, She-Ra's creator. You know what we do have, though? Direct from the creator? An interview with N.D. Stevenson about this very subject, featuring special guest star Rebecca Sugar, even!

(Deadname revised in screenshot) Maybe you should stop calling them sisters, Lily, that's kind of lesbophobic of you. Also, stop lying Lily.

SO SHE JUST MADE IT UP!

Of course she did! All she ever wanted to do was to project her disgusting incest fantasies onto a beautiful, queer positive kids series for her own perverted, sexual gratification!

Once again, for all the people in the back, CATRA AND ADORA WERE NEVER "SISTERS" OR "ADOPTED SIBLINGS". They grew up together in an orphanage-military boarding school as-I cannot emphasize this enough-BEST FIRENDS WHO CAME TO LOVE EACH OTHER.

After all, if they were truly "sisters"/"siblings", Lily would gush about them and ship them non-stop....just like what she does with ATLA's Zuko and Azula.

Yes, you head that correctly.

She ships Zuko and Azula.

huh, i kinda gathered that the low-quality pictures of those S4 leaks were meant to be... something (as we saw them floating around on the internet before november 2019 ─ check the post date!)... but i never realized there was ever supposed to be an art book in the works despite how similar it looks to my MLP one in terms of format/style.

it's definitely a double-edged sword (pun intended because she-ra?), as i would love to get my hands on any physical media made for SPOP since there's always been so little, but what's the point if even the most basic information about the characters was set up to be entirely wrong? at least the visual references looked nice.

that being said, if spopsite of all accounts announced they were involved then how did the word "sisters" even make it to the drafts?! something isn't adding up here and i'm quite confused.

I think you may have misread the original post; the "Catra and Adora grew up as siblings" page had nothing to do with any artbook, official or unofficial. Not only does it predate the airing of season four (where the updated Catra design originated), it predates the airing of season *one*. While we can't confirm any of this without input from staff who worked on the show, my own suspicion is thus - the person who assembled the character sheets for the media day was *not* a member of the show's core staff team. This would explain why these reference sheets mistakenly use the season 4 designs of various characters - as production on season 4 would have been underway by the time of season 1's airing.

Whoever made those sheets would have used the reference imagery most readily available, without realizing said designs were not meant to be shown to the public at this point in time.

Hi, CD-Call/Lily. I hope this gets to you somehow. Please read this. Nothing I say here will be a criticism of you but I don't know how to reach out and this is important for your physical safety, life, and long term health.

As an experienced hiker, I'm begging you not to go on a winter hike in Nova Scotia. Winter hiking is a whole other experience above and beyond hiking in good weather, and it is, in general, inadvisable to go alone even if you are experienced. Nova Scotia is very wet, very cold, and very, very unsafe in the winter. The signs of exhaustion and dehydration are harder to recognize when you're hiking in winter. Not to mention there's a whole host of other issues like hypothermia, ice, and falling snow and ice from trees. If your foot gets wet, you won't feel it after the initial soak but it'll still be causing problems, that will get worse and worse the longer you are out. If something happens to you out there, the risks are so much higher in winter. A coat isn't enough. You need gear. You need resources you don't have. You need experience as a hiker that, I'm sorry, as evidenced from how you spoke of your previous hike in the late summer of 2024, you don't have. This is not me trying to be cruel or snotty. Hiking, wilderness training, and outdoor recreation have been part of my job for the past four years now and I've been hiking since I was 13.

I know I've criticized and been angry at you a lot, I know I've been hurtful to you. I know you don't like me and I don't like you. I know we have our issues, but I don't want you to get frostbite that permanently damages your body, you could experience long term neurological issues related to brain damage, or worse, you die, alone in the cold. This happened to a dear friend of mine several years ago. He had other health complications, as you do, and he died of exposure in the Nova Scotian wilderness, in weather warmer than what we've been experiencing. It took only a few hours for him to experience brain death.

Please listen to this and reconsider your trip. Please don't go anyway just to spite me. For all the tar and poison between you and I, there have been too many trans women that died young.

a fan, a friend, Mikaila, whoever is checking her tag that is close to her, please get her to read this and see reason. So many inexperienced hikers die or get hurt during the winter because they just don't know what it's going to be like. This isn't a slight against her it is deep concern.

And for my followers and people that aren't her fans in general, don't be dicks in the notes please. I'm putting aside criticism because I don't want to see a fellow human being get seriously hurt or lose their life.

A quick rundown of the day's events, so far: a Ban and a Rebrand

On Sunday the 9th of February, at approximately 12:30AM Nova Scotia local time, Lily Orchard's tumblr (lily-orchard-stuff) was terminated by staff, as confirmed by Lily's wife Mikaila. According to posts by Lily on other channels, no explanation for this termination has been given so far. All that remains of her tumblr are reblogs from her adoring fans, and screencaps from her... not so adoring fans. It is likely Lily will create a new tumblr in the near future, but by her own admission she is waiting until she receives an explanation for the deletion of her original (technically her third) tumblr first. In the meantime, Lily has taken this opportunity to rebrand as CD-Call across all of her socials:

This rebrand has gone into effect on Youtube, Patreon, Bluesky and Twitch, and her URLs on those services have been changed accordingly. Regardless of CD's stated or implied reasons for the rebrand, it's pretty clear that "Lily Orchard" is a name with all sorts of negative connotations that I'm sure CD would love to get away from.

Will this rebrand stick? I guess we'll know in a few weeks; stay tuned to see if this blog's name suddenly becomes "The CD Case"!

Apologies to all members of the Blocked-By-Lily-Orchard club

But now that her tumblr has been terminated (again), as confirmed by Mikaila:

you'll have to turn in your commemorative badges and clicky pens. Sorry folks, them's the rules. Once she's remade (as she will), you will have to submit proof of being blocked by her once more before you can be re-certified. Don't worry, it shouldn't be hard. Y'all know what she's like.
