A hug would be nice...

(can be applied to many different heroes, so have fun with this)

Danny looked horrible.

It was a bit of an understatement, but other words would sound too mean and he felt like crying, so getting insulted right now would not be the best thing.

He was completely covered in bandages, head to toe, most of them bloody as he limped in the middle of the night in an unknown town.

First, it was the vivisection, then the ecto burns from the GIW guns, the scratches he got running away in the vents (he didn’t know if he needed a tetanus shot now), getting electrocuted by the fence, getting chased around for days without break and now it sounded like it was about to start raining.

He looked like a bloody and sweaty mummy that had a good roll in the mud.

He was pretty sure some of his organs were missing, a dozen bones were fractured, and everything in general hurt like a bitch.

He was breathing heavily, unable to really see where he was going until he felt someone grab him from behind and press something to his throat.

He whimpered from the pain, as he heard screaming coming from all around him.

Everything started to get too loud very quickly and that’s what broke the gates.

The first sob was so loud it even surprised himself.

Tears weren’t running down because of the dehydration, but his sobs were so heartbreaking and loud that he felt the guy behind him release his grip on him.

He fell on his knees, hugging himself and pressing his forehead against the ground.

After a while, the commotion around him stopped, and he felt someone rubbing his back in circles. Danny appreciated the attempts to console him, but he suddenly really, really needed to throw up.

Drop of a name.

Danny has existed for... a while.

His World stopped existing some time ago, as expected with every material thing.

Adjusting at the start was difficult. He tried to end his immortality several times, but after so long, his mind started to shift.

Humans live their lives with the concept of death as inevitable, the happiness in the moments, the growth you experience during the years.

That's how he was taught to think, it was normal.

But immortals don't think like that.

They think bigger.

Languages transform and disappear, and so do countries, planets, cultures, species, elements, resources, solar systems.... and the forms of the Ancients, as concepts change meanings.

Immortals born like that don't get so affectionate about the material world, but they love it in their own way.

This is how Phantom, The Ancient of Space and Ghost King, found himself fond of a world that developing quickly and seemed to attract a lot of trouble.

When a God drops his name in a world, they are making themselves known to it, giving people knowledge of their existence and will.

He watched as they developed, very similar to his original planet and he felt when his name was found.

He certainly didn't expect them to try to summon him.

The whole of the Justice League was ready for the battle of the century. An evil God was being summoned and they were Earth's last defense.

When the sky turned pitch black, suddenly, the universe was in front of them.

Everywhere but home.

The Anti-Ecto Acts applied only to North America.

The USA and Canada both permitted the capture, experimentation, and termination of ecto entities.

One night, after weeks of being constantly hunted down, Danny decided it was time to leave the continent.

At first, he was terrified.

He didn’t even need false documentation, since the GIW wasn’t looking for his human identity, and Jazz helped him get everything he needed.

He… didn’t even have to buy a flight or something, since his speed could get him anywhere.

So, a bit anxiously, he traveled down to South America.

He had a pretty good time!

People were friendly and welcoming, excited to share the beauty they had with them and Danny found himself so much more interested in other cultures.

Being surrounded by languages, Spanish, Portuguese, and even some Indigenous ones became much easier to learn.

Traveling around wasn’t a problem, he often found people happy to take him in for a shower and a meal.

It wasn’t safe all the time, but it wasn’t because he was a ghost, which was somehow nicer.

With much less anxiety, he started to travel even more.

Africa was the obvious choice since it was the closest continent.

The main cities were rich with people and modern buildings, making him feel a bit out of place like he was in a cleaner version of Hollywood.

Going away from touristy sites, everything started to become more bare, the people still welcoming, but weary of noisy strangers. Wich was understandable, so next came Asia, then Europe, Australia, and Antarctica.

By the time Danny was in his twenties, he had pretty much visited almost every country on Earth.

He was having fun, he really was, but in every new country he visited, he was reminded how much he wished he was waking up in his bed, spending the days with his family and friends.

Once, he met a guy in London, whose soul looked like Swiss cheese, that he helped with some ghost stuff. He was recognized as from America, so he explained what he was doing all the way in England. Apparently, the guy had connections with the Justice League and promised to help.

At several spots, he even met with Dani. Every time they saw each other, they remembered that, even if it was so diverse, the World was still very small.

He was in South Italy when his phone rang.

It wasn’t hard to keep in touch with his friends and family, sending them photos or even packages of stuff he found traveling.

He answered Jazz, as she started to cry happily about the Anti-Ecto Acts being revoked.

He… hadn’t actually believed Jonh.

His mind was blank, with her sister excitedly talking over the phone.

After five years.

He could go back home.

Vlad Masters is a man who knows what he wants.

He does have everything that he wants.

Except… Recently, things started to change.

He knew that his interest in Maddie was starting to fade, but his attention shifted to Daniel.

The desire to have him burned inside his chest. His hands hitched with the desire to give him everything, to have him be his, to keep the naive teenager in a glass case so nobody could put their filthy hands on him.

With time, his obsession started to bloom into something sick and violent.

Like a natural disaster, Vlad swept Danny’s family out of the picture (alive or not) to force him to always be next to him.

And Danny…

Danny is ill.

Ill because Vlad separated him from everybody, because he doesn’t make him fulfill his obsession, because he is punished, and because Vlad always seems to want more from him.

He wants so much more that, soon enough, Daniel turns out to be a disappointment.

The standards started to become too high. Etiquette, isolation, training, and the draining of ectoplasm were starting to wear him thin.

But having him it’s not a total waste of resources.

Vlad could always try for a new heir.

Tim forces himself not to snarl in disgust as he sees one of the guests slide his hand around the teenager next to him.

He sees his hand squeeze the kid’s shoulders as the poor boy’s eyes start to space out.

That slimy smile was something Tim had seen too many times, and he subtly brought it to the attention of the whole family.

He saw Brude get Masters's attention, making him lose his grip on the young boy, as both Cassandra and Damian got him away.

Now, it was Tim’s turn to do something, as he slipped away from the crowd to do some research on the man.

Catch a ghost ride?

In the USA, picking up a ghost in your car, often happened when hitchhiking was still legal, but that doesn’t mean it’s no longer a thing.

Getting a ghost in your backseat, looking at your rearview mirror, and finding out they are no longer there.

Then why THE FUCK won’t this ghost leave him alone?!

Tim found himself on the outskirts of Colorado (for a mission) on a mild spring evening when he spotted a teenage guy at the side of the road with a backpack on his shoulder, looking like he had just come out of a shredder.

He didn’t even think about it, his foot pressing automatically on the brakes and letting the guy on, receiving a quick “thanks.”

After about half an hour, his eyes glanced at the mirror, and the guy looked passed out and... transparent?

After several hours of driving, the guy woke up, looked over himself, looked at Tim, and decided it was a wonderful time to start a friendly conversation.

Yup. He was giving a ghost a ride.

A chatty one at that.

Ice core needs warming.

Danny's love language is physical touch.

He adored his dad’s crushing hugs, his mother’s forehead kisses, and his sister's way of putting both hands on his shoulders to guide him.

He loved the way he would accidentally brush against his friends while walking, how they would grab on each other during horror movies, how Sam would stop and pick the loose hair on his shirt, and how Tucker would press his hand against his back every time he caught up to them.

After being forced out of Amity and outed as Phantom, he started to miss Dash’s punches, too.

Any type of touch was considerably better than the cold he was feeling inside his chest.

His ice core made him feel like he was suffocating, the warmth of a human touch now felt more urgent than eating or finding shelter out in Gotham.

In the meantime, Red Hood received news of a new criminal in the alley that would target random people in the street and grab them, causing their arms to freeze over.

DpxDc prompt

I never post, but I crave suffering.

Danny has been working for the JL for a while.

Specifically, not for the group as a whole, but popping up to help heroes with their individual rogues every once in a while.

None of them, when meeting him for the first time, really appreciated an unknown meta kid throwing himself into danger, but after a couple of times of that happening, they managed to speak to him calmly and find out about ghosts.

Not only ghosts, but their culture, the categories, and about obsessions.

That's how Phantom, the kid, explains to them that one of his obsessions is protection and why he tries to help the heroes. Apparently, his haunt rejected him, labeling him as a villain and forcing him to leave.

From that point on, the heroes try their best to make Phantom fulfill his obsession without getting him involved physically and risking things getting out of hand.

Batman, in particular, instructs him with jamming machines and electrical stuff by just... staying there, invisible.

One fateful night, something goes wrong, and Danny finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time during a Scarecrow attack.

When the fear gas fills the air, Bruce watches as Phantom's invisibility turns off and he hits the ground, his muscles tense in what looks like the bad start of a seizure.

Batman can't help him, as they're surrounded, but as soon as the battle is over, he runs towards him.

Phantom's body is shaking violently, but he's not unconscious. His eyes are wide as he's throwing back his head, mouth gasping for air.

Then he hears it, a continuous whisper from the little air he manages to get:

"Mom, dad... Please, pl-ese stop—"

My most well detailed oc it's a fucking dumbass, I'm so glad it's entire species is going to be eaten like cakepops

I decided to delve into my lmk oc since Tumblr seems like a good place to do it.

Pt.1

Meet Jiàn, a celestial raised in the Heavenly branch of the Immortal Earth Tome, who was in charge of overseeing the physical state of the mortal realm.

This branch was under the supervision of Heavenly King Jianguo, who unfortunately tended little to the palace, leaving the management to General Luan.

One day the illustrious Warlike Rabbit from the wind-born land, through an oath with the old Heavenly King Jianguo, offered his firstborn child Shan Ning as a disciple of the general, to work under his command.

Shan Ning had been educated in court manners and cultivated the doctrine of Action, a path it would follow until the end of its apprenticeship.

Under the General, Shan Ning learned the art of warfare and discipline, how to run a thousand miles, how to serve heaven, and how to dominate the enemy.

Although hundreds of centuries passed on the earth and the mentality of the people and immortals began to open up, it seemed that things in the palace remained behind in time, with an extremely strict conduct.

At the end of its apprenticeship, Shan Ning was given the title of Bullet-Arrow Rabbit (hence the nickname Jiàn, meaning arrow), and given the job and salary of a celestial, with the task of descending to the mortal world to chart the Map of the world.

The Map of the World was created by sacrificing Jiàn's eyes, which were now yellow like the pages of the parchment, making sure that the Map could show every single place Jiàn had visited.

The work assigned to the Bullet-Arrow Rabbit consisted of going around every single place on earth to ensure that the Map remained constantly updated, traveling so fast that not even the wind moved, crossing walls without damaging them and passing under the eyes completely unnoticed.

Such an assignment lasted a minimum of two celestial days, or two earth years, always returning punctually to the Heavenly Palace of the immortal Earth Tome, then resting seven celestial days, or seven earth years, and returning to work on the eighth celestial day.

Jiàn was 15 celestial years old when things started to go downhill.

Pt. 2

Learning under General Luan was extremely strict, sometimes it seemed more like he enjoyed using Jiàn as an outlet, resulting in a violent discipline, often leaving the young one with more scars than it had before.

The other immortals who worked in the palace looked at Jiàn with pity, supporting it whenever it left the General's office.

This continued until he decided to increase its working hours, decreasing breaks and giving Jiàn only one day to complete its task and three days of rest.

Over time the situation deteriorated until the days in which it could stop to rest were only those where Jiàn passed out from fatigue, but in spite of everything the immortal followed the General's commands to the letter, since that was conduct that had been imparted to it.

Disobeying orders was not an option, being punished meant failing and failure was not contemplated.

A couple of punches in the stomach are much better than a severed head.

Soon, however, the Jade Emperor's court began investigating.

Rumors that the Immortal Tome Earth's division abused its employees spread among the court advisors, where many kept silent out of fear. The atmosphere filled with tension and the General's violence turned into venom, which he gladly vented whenever Jiàn appeared before him.

"Go down that filty mortal earth and do your job. They had cursed me if I find myself faced with such failure, leave this building until I call you back myself."

These are the words that the General addressed to it one day.

Jiàn, who has never denied an order from its General, nodded and rose from the blood-stained floor, dragging itself out of the gates of heaven and descending into the mortal world.

The story goes on for more years, those who have passed are not aware of it, but Jiàn worked to the extreme, food, water and sleep no longer existed for it.

Jiàn, who never denied an order, continued to run, even after General Luan was arrested and executed for his crimes.

After the incident, no one has ever seen the Bullet-Arrow Rabbit again, where the Map of the World is enclosed in Heaven and only it knows that Jiàn only stops once a year because fatigue and illness, during the Chinese New Year night, on a mountain which we know the name of very well.
