Man how do you draw expressions so well?! Especially the mouth? When I try it looks awkward and stiff as hell.
Oh good question! It’s honestly still a little difficult I do mess with them a lot before I get to the final. I use refs a lot especially for mouths and just a lot of little studies go a long way!

Ok, this might be a bit odd, but here we go. Around when season 3 of the dragon prince came out, I followed your ruthari fanart religiously. You were one of the artists in the community who I looked up to the most, and your daily sketches inspired me to draw more, too. I kept up with the pirate au pretty consistently. But I didn’t have a tumblr account at the time, so all I could do was lurk.
Fast forward five years, and I’m plunged back into the tdp fandom. But this time, I have a voice, and art that I’m confident in sharing with the community. And because I have a voice now, I wanted to say “thank you”. Five years ago, I was going through a bit of a rough time (weren’t we all), but your art was always a good thing in the sort of sea of bad things going on. Thanks for being awesome, and sorry for throwing this curveball at you.
All that out of the way, I was wondering if you’re considering doing any ruthari fanart now, with tdp season 7 out. It’s totally okay if you don’t, ships and fandoms pass in and out of our lives all the time, that’s just the way of things. Also five years is a long damn time. But if you do, I’d love to see it.
(Also, would you mind if I maybe do some fanart of your old pirate au in the future? It brought me so much joy back in the day, and I’d love to finally be able to celebrate it in the way that au deserves)

First this is so sweet and really means a lot to hear that I was an inspo for you! I’m really fond of those years and really grinding the every day sketches and working on those aus and stuff is what made me the artist I am now. Crazy to look back on it that way but it’s true. I’m so glad it was something you enjoyed. I lurked a little through your account and want to say your drawings looks amazing! Especially love the comics I saw. Please keep drawing because I’m sure you’re already an inspiration to someone else out there. And yea you’re very welcome it just makes me really happy to see more artists drawing what they love.
As for tdp and the ruthari and pirate aus you are very welcome to draw from it! And anyone else if they want. I watched season 4 and season 5 and then after honestly just kinda dropped it tho someday I hope to go back. Like you said 5 years is a long time and I have moved onto other stuff. Not to say I dislike it, again super fond of that ship and fandom, but sadly just not in it currently. Plus really busy with a lot of other work so sadly I’ll probably not be drawing for it soon. That being said again I love your work and highly encourage you to keep drawing it and everyone else that fandom to have a great time. It’s a sweet community and I hope everyone over there is doing well.

Aww thank you! My arcane brain rot is so bad rn but I’m glad you are enjoying it. Act 4 was really what I needed after that traumatizing season. So glad we got those soft times.
