here, go see a star war

niki. 31. she/her. melbourne, au. queer audhder and general total disaster of a person. tragic star wars fan. certified jyn erso + cassian andor trash since 2016.

To be clear for any BixCassian or Melshian shippers that may stumble across my blog over the coming months: I have no problems with other ships involving Cassian.

You may have noticed that I'm a Rebelcaptain/JynCassian girlie through and through and am unfortunately prone to yapping about them a lot, but contrary to what you may assume about me based on this, I can actually appreciate that not everything is about Jyn when it comes to Cassian. They are two separate characters and I can fully appreciate them as such—I just happen to really like them together, romantic styles. That said, I can also appreciate the relationships they share with other characters.

What I don't like, however, is people who dismiss the importance of them to each other in their respective stories simply because they don't like Jyn. Regardless of whether you view them as a platonic or romantic pairing (or how you feel about them as individual characters, for that matter), their impact on one another isn't really something that's up for debate. After all, it's right there in the text for everyone to see. In posting about Jyn and Cassian, I'm not soliciting opinions from random anons trying to tell me how I'm wrong simply because you don't like them as a ship. All I'm doing when I post about them is talking about two characters I love and spend way too much time thinking about, not making a comment on how they're better than whatever ship you prefer.

As such, unless you have something of substance to say, I'm going to be responding to every anon who tries to talk shit (especially about Jyn) in my asks from here on out with this:

sorry but if i have to see one more ghibli style ai photo filter on any form of social media i will really have to start considering a life without the internet in the deep woods somewhere. like it’s so discouraging all the fucking time when people mindlessly participate in this stupid sort of trend without considering the overarching implications, and in this case it’s particularly egregious and doesn’t even take much thinking to see why it’s bad, when hayao miyazaki has explicitly said that he believes gen ai is an insult to life itself. a hand-drawn animated film is such a labor of love and the work of years, and using that to train ai to create soulless versions of people’s vacation photos in the name of “content”……. oh it’s bad out here.

sometimes I wonder how y'all are obsessed with specific characters and I'm like "why them" but then I remember that sometimes its literally not your choice you just look at them wrong and all of a sudden they're taking up your every thought forever

to quote someone who was a genius on bluesky:

What is real? How do you define 'real'? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. The Matrix (1999) dir. by the Wachowskis
