Summary: Merlin confesses his magic, upending the trust between him and Arthur; when he goes missing from Camelot, a conflicted Arthur must reckon with his fears and prejudices as Merlin’s life is put at stake. “You were never going to renounce magic, really, were you?” “I was going to try,” Merlin said. “Were you? Or are you lying again?”

Summary: “For better or for worse,” Donna promised the Doctor, the day she met him. The day he met her. She could have chosen any number of lines to make the joke, but she’d missed her own wedding, been kidnapped by flippin’ robot Santas, and jumped out of a taxi because this Martian without a name promised he would catch her. A leap of faith. Donna Noble didn’t believe in faith, or destiny. At least, not for people like her. But she’d jumped anyway because, because, because – Because there was a robot Santa driving the taxi. (She jumped. Time held them in balance. The Doctor caught her. He always would: for better or for worse.) --------------- Or, a character study of Donna Noble, with the Doctor.

Summary: Melinoë’s long-awaited family reunion does not go as planned, and she returns to the Crossroads with only one person. Nobody warned her that her brother’s returns to the Underworld have always been a bit… macabre.

Summary: The most Tucker has ever heard about tombs has been in old Bible stories. Mainly the one about Jesus. But in those stories, the people never stayed in their tombs. They always got up and left. Technically, you could say the desert temple was a tomb. But it wasn't CT who killed Tucker the first time.

Summary: "Psychic powers don’t give us Quirks. Being born with one does." Kageyama Shigeo, nicknamed "Mob," had known this at a young age. This did not stop him from applying to two of the most prestigious Hero schools in Japan because, although he seems like an inconspicuous person, he, is in fact, a powerful ESPer.

Summary: Dear Mr. Baggins, I am writing in regards to the job for which you advertised your services, and as was relayed to me by a certain wizard by the name of Gandalf the Grey: "Barber wants a good job, plenty of Excitement and reasonable Reward."

Note from submitter: An epistolary/letter-form AU

a scene can start wherever you want it to

writing isn't real life. You don't need to set up a character walking into a room or two characters greeting each other and talking about the weather or what-have-you in order to lead into the conversation you actually want them to have. just start at the conversation.

hell, start in the middle of the conversation. you could even start at the end and then have one of them leave and the other one left behind to reflect back on what just happened.

writing gets easier when you open yourself up to writing the parts that are interesting, to starting where it's easy instead of where you think you should start.

if it ends up not working? that's okay. you tried it, and sometimes just getting something out of your head is a necessary first step to getting the words right

Summary: Why wasn’t Martha speaking the right language? Unless, of course, he was speaking the wrong one. Donna is still looking for the Doctor when a UFO crash lands outside of Downing Street, containing the severely injured Time Lord. Trouble is, the human race is about to be the victim of genocide, and the Doctor can't speak English.

Summary: Mr. Toshinori Yagi from the Second Secretarial Office: A kind, generous man with an uncanny knowledge about the Might Tower Staff who never hesitated to make their days brighter. At least, that's how they knew him.

Summary: John Smith. Sure, he's a bit eccentric. He can't resist keeping his friend Donna up at three in the morning with existential questions about the universe and toasters. He's prone to arguing with history professors about 'what really happened,' and what is up with his fashion sense? But he's a normal, human person. A completely normal, one hundred percent human person. But then again, statistics lie, everything is relative, and when John wakes up with the ability to see Time itself and the terrible feeling that the alien beat of two hearts in his chest where he once had one is somehow familiar, he finds it's worth revisiting his definition of 'normal.'

Summary: This is a tutorial/live example on how to mimic the look of letters, fliers, and stationery (as well as other forms of written media) without using images. For all your epistolary fic needs.
