alright! i finished f4 thailand:
-even when the show went off the rails (which it definitely did a few times), i could tell that the production/direction team were really making something that they loved and the cast had great chemistry-- this makes such a huge difference!!! the last 10ish minutes was really great, and i loved the little details like the prom scene using the opening credits' color palette/flower motifs, and how the wide shot where thyme regains his memory focuses on weeds growing in the bottom-right corner.
-the dancing sequence with the F4 members was really cute. LMFAO @ thyme giving a proposal speech and then being like "okay stay in school!" and tying his shoelace instead
-definitely enjoyed the first half more than the second half. the lita arc onwards lost me. and the way the last 2 eps had yet another breakup, fake cancer, and then amnesia added on top of that? oy. i almost started chainsmoking again.
-thyme's mom's actress was fierce as hell though. props.
-also why did no one call her out on the fake cancer thing? because holy shit??
-gorya's parents are HORRIBLE PARENTS.
-i really came around on ren! to the point where i wouldn't have minded if he was the actual endgame. he had a heart glow-up.
-the best parts of the show (imo) were when f4 + gorya got to riff off each other and i actually really enjoy the gorya + thyme fighting scenes when bickering couples can be hit or miss for me. scenes like thyme's failed party and the zoo date were my favorites. i think the main critique i have against the show is that for all the angst and drama and mess, there really wasn't a ton of actual romantic/shippy scenes? the ratio felt off idk
-overall: i liked it! it had a bingeable/addictive quality to it that i couldnt it put down even when it was making me SO MAD. idk if i'll seek out other adaptations since LOL many of you mentioned this was the best one :'D
