NICOL RAGLAND ~ OKLAHOMA ASSOCIATION OF CONSERVATION DISTRICTS
“Black and Indigenous communities are some of the originators of many of the technologies we cherish in the sustainable and regenerative world of agriculture.
Things like raised beds, composting, rotational grazing and credit unions all were created by Black and Indigenous folks.
And yet even after the emancipation proclamation and so-called end of slavery, many BIPOC communities have continued to suffer oppression throughout many different cycles.
In deep gratitude to be documenting the work of The Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts and their program called C.A.R.E - Conservation and Agriculture Reach Everyone.
A project to provide information, training, funding opportunities and technical assistance to socially disadvantaged and veteran farmers and ranchers.
Stay tuned.. short film to come.” - Nicol
