[Image Description: A fifteen-panel black and white fan art comic of the Warner siblings from Animaniacs. All of the panels feature the artist’s name, GrantedDrop, hidden somewhere in the image and overlaying the image as a semi-transparent watermark.

In the first panel, Wakko is sitting in the foreground of a hallway, frowning in confusion with tongue out and arms crossed. A large question mark floats in the air near Wakko’s head. In the background, Yakko and Dot peek around the corner of the hallway.

The second panel is a closeup of Yakko and Dot with vaguely concerned expressions on their faces.

The third panel is the same closeup, but now Yakko and Dot are looking at one another with eyebrows raised. Dot is shrugging with one arm.

The fourth panel features all of the Warner siblings, with Yakko bending down to rest a hand on Wakko’s shoulder and Wakko turning to look at him. Yakko is asking, β€œWhat’s wrong, sib?” Dot is leaning forward with her hands clasped near her chin and saying, β€œYeah, you can talk to us!”

In the fifth panel, Dot is holding Wakko’s right arm, and Yakko is kneeling down and holding Wakko’s left hand. Yakko and Dot are both smiling. Wakko has one foot braced against the floor, as if getting ready to stand, and is frowning slightly at the viewer while saying, β€œPeople keep telling me that gender is what’s in your pants…”

In the sixth panel, Dot and Yakko yank Wakko up into the air, and there are arrows and vague outlines of Wakko’s body left behind to indicate the rapid motion. Yakko is standing with a hand on his hip and is smiling at the viewer with one eyebrow raised.

In the seventh panel, Wakko lands, standing and sticking out one leg, gesturing down at it. Dot and Yakko stare at it, frowning in contemplation with their hands held up to their chins. Wakko is saying, β€œBut I’m not wearing any pants!”

In the eighth panel, Dot and Wakko look over at Yakko. Dot is holding the edge of her skirt and saying, β€œWell, Yakko, you’re the only one of us with pants.” Yakko is frowning and rifling around inside his pants pocket, saying, β€œHmm…”

In the ninth panel, Yakko holds up a finger triumphantly, with his other hand still in his pocket and a proud smile on his face, saying β€œAha! I thiiink I found it!”. Dot and Wakko stare at him in surprise and curiosity.

The tenth panel is a closeup of Dot and Wakko, who are looking up at Yakko’s arms, which are holding a large quantity of deli meat above their heads. Dot and Wakko both have confused looks on their faces, and Wakko is saying, β€œDeli meat?”

The eleventh panel features Yakko’s hands dropping an enormous pile of deli meat on top of Dot and Wakko, obscuring them entirely. The word β€œFLUMP” appears over the sticks of meat to indicate the sound of them hitting the ground.

The twelfth panel shows just the pile of deli meat, with a speech bubble emerging from where Dot was standing that reads, β€œβ€˜Best by:…’ How many decades ago?!”

In the thirteenth panel, Yakko is standing next to the pile of meat with a smile on his face and his hands raised in a shrug as he looks at Dot and Wakko. Dot and Wakko’s faces are scrunched in exertion as they pop their upper bodies out of the meat pile. Yakko is saying, β€œWell, I guess that settles it.”

In the fourteenth panel, Yakko is smiling with his arms crossed and looking over at Dot. Dot and Wakko are still half-way inside the meat pile, and Wakko is looking at Dot with a blank expression. Dot is smiling and saying, β€œYeah, their concept of gender’s just a bunch of out-of-date baloney.”

In the fifteenth and final panel, all of the Warner siblings turn to smile smugly at the viewer with half-closed eyes. The word β€œEnd” is written in the bottom right corner. /End ID]

"Also, John is so Gen X that he's narrating his slow descent into madness by insistently and continuously making Pop culture references for literal aliens."

Aha, the original post is this one by @nonasuch!

[image description: a photo of the main characters of Farscape on an earth-like planet in front of a blue sky with white clouds. Below that, a screenshot of a tumblr post with the username missing reads:

for the record, if you have never watched Farscape: it is a show about an American astronaut who gets stranded in space with a bunch of aliens. this description is technically accurate but tells you nothing about the actual experience of watching the show.

if it helps any, please consider that the main characters are, in no particular order:

a jock who’s very good at math and surprisingly good at feelings

an ex-space cop who combines the fighting-for-her-life aptitude of Ellen Ripley with the understanding-her-own-emotions aptitude of Seven of Nine

Space Javert

a big weird puppet friend with like 12 arms. you will want to hug him.

Fun Worf

β€œwow i wonder how she got so calm and centered, she seems very wise” β€œoh yeah i used to be an EXTREMELY violent anarchist and I’m holding onto my chill by my fingernails at all times”

like, what if Yoda had 0 wisdom to impart and was just a horrible little bastard man who only wanted to do crimes

alien girl on Space Rumspringa except she’s never going back because on her home planet feelings are illegal

/ID]

I reblogged that one once I learned. I love that it came out of Tumblr.

The jock who is good at math is also terrible at fights. He's the lost US Astronaut and also despite knowing next to nothing about massively advanced alien tech beyond his ken is also, notably, the only one good at math.

Also everyone is so very horny. So, so horny.

Don't forget Space Rumspringa also tries to steal anything not bolted down and some things that are. And while she definitely ties to fuck her way out of trouble it feels like it would be less violent if she just killed a guy.

All trauma all the time for everyone also, you all have so much PTSD they introduced a character to the crew who was the physical manifestation of the trauma of death for the entire universe.

Dick joke, dick joke, dick joke, hey did we mention how we were all horrifically ripped from our homes and loved ones and then thrown into a place of unending torment with no hope for escape hahaha, dick joke, dick joke

If You Meet A God You Should Immediately Start Shouting At Them

Also don't forget Unfrozen Caveman Space Archeologist from ancient advanced civilization who hates violence and wants you all to know you are all so stupid, and Space Witch who is basically a drug dealer or maybe biological warfare engineer, I'm not sure.

That show was many people's pansexual and monsterfucker awakening. Nerds kick ass. Geeks are full of anarchist wisdom. The Jim Henson Company answering "what can you do with this" with "hell yes"

It's a good show.

Also there's comics.

Everyone at each other all the time: "You would not last ten seconds on my planet," except at the human where at one point they directly ask him how such a pathetic species is still alive.

You know all those β€œHumans are Space Australians” jokes?

They made it a show.

Every Farscape episode can be boiled down to:

1) A failed Get Rich Quick scheme, often involving either sex or drugs

2) Space shenanigans make everyone high. I CANNOT overstate how often this comes up. Sometimes it's actual drugs, sometimes it's silly lights, alien parasites, or a random visiting alien whose species Is Just Like That.

3) Holy shit, the cops found us, everybody run!

4) The crew gets conned by yet another alien grifter because THEY are all convinced that THEY are the best grifters out there.

5) Monster of the week but its sole purpose is to create character growth or reveal some hidden reason why one of the characters isn't a completely irredeemable shithead.

The crew of Moya have exactly three collective brain cells in any given episode, and generally Pilot has at least one of them. Unsurprisingly, nobody ever listens to Pilot.

There is an entire episode where a character sustains head trauma and hallucinates himself into Looney Toons. It involves the line "Lock up your daughters and hide the fried chicken!"

None of the characters have any sense of personal space.

It is a frelling PHENOMENAL show and everyone should watch it.

"You are tampering with vast forces beyond your comprehension."

"LEROYYYYYY JENKINS!!!"

huh! did not realize that post had escaped containment.

anyway go watch Farscape! It’s audaciously weird and heartbreaking and clever and never met a status quo it couldn’t blow to smithereens. Also there are Muppets.

I remember catching a few episodes on TV when it was airing, but now I really want to watch the series properly.

It's on Tubi!

and youtube

enjoy it with snacks and beverages.

If you want to watch there are some live streams on youtube. Including one in English, one in Spanish, and one in german all on the official YouTube page.

It is incredibly important to train yourself to have your first instinct be to look something up.

Don't know how to do something? Look it up.

See a piece of news mentioned on social media? Look it up.

Not sure if something is making it to the broader public consciousness, either because you don't see it much or you see people saying nobody is talking about it? Look it up.

Don't know what a word means? Look it up.

It will make you a better reader and a better writer, but it will also just make you more equipped to cope with the world.

So often, I see people talking about something as though it is the first time anyone has ever acknowledged it, when I've been reading reports about it on the news for months or years. Or I see someone totally misinterpreting an argument because they clearly don't know what a word means--or, on the other hand, making an argument that doesn't make sense because they aren't using words the right way.

Look things up! Check the news (the real news, not random people on social media)! Do your research! You (and the world) will be better for it.

A number of people in the tags are talking about not being sure what counts as a good source, so here's some suggestions:

Do not use AI. It makes stuff up.

Longer Form / Investigative / Research-Focused Media:

Please note that some other sources in the news section also do great longer-form work.

tumblr is one of the only places i will actually unmute a video when the tags are like "omg unmute it" bc i know most everyone else on this website loves reading and hates noise like i do so it must be pretty good

- it's okay to stare at my tits

- it's okay to think about my tits

- it's okay to get wet thinking about me holding your face in my tits while you struggle to breathe

- it's okay to want to put your cock in my tits

- murder is ok

it's interesting that people think drawing fat bodies mostly means drawing a character either smoothly round or large hips and breasts with a slightly visible tummy.

fat is like, dough-y and loose, or like a water balloon. it has curves and bumps and sag cuz the skin/fat give weight to the body. it will also crease alot as well, and I find it beautiful. i wish more people drew that.

hhhehe like this 🀀

real talk, bodies are squishy and carry weight to them!!! fat distribution is awesome!!! especially when it goes to areas like the arms and upper legs(which people don't really seem to draw with weight when designing a fat character for some reason 😭)
