one thing that makes me very tired is the phenomenon of black folks talking about their issues with anti-black racism and getting the "POC issues" "support POC" label attached to them.

a majority of black people including me kinda hate being called "POC" specifically when talking about our oppression because POC is used as a catch-all term that indeed erases our blackness and black centered racism and microagressions and two, groups us in with other minorities who are not immune to being anti-black as well.

minorities using specific terms to describe their oppression is not bad I think.

i feel the same way when I see people tell trans women "ok but we ALL are oppressed!!!" which is also a cop out that refuses to engage in the levels of systemic oppression a trans woman(specifically trans women of color) face.

i wish people understood that bigotry takes many forms and while it can affect people outside of that minority, they are not the primary victims of it. and that you should listen to their voices instead of erasing or speaking over.
