Now to the main part of this post: as someone who grew up being "pro-ship", i just want to say that it was the primary method through which i was groomed online. It is extremely dangerous to push this rhetoric (with terms made by and for pedophiles, might I add!) through a series made for children and teenagers in a fandom full of children and teenagers. I am not interested in arguing about this.

So tl;dr: block me if you call normal people antis

no literally. like shes been totally isolated from her family and any friends (close or not)/acquaintances in thunderclan, now surrounded by tigerheart's family, friends, and clanmates who think tigerheart is the second coming of jesus for some fucking reason. if she has a problem, who is everyone going to side with? even if they don't think he's right, hes their leader. are they going to insult him? his marriage? by siding with dovewing is out of the question.

and as ive said before, in the elder's quest, dovewing is upset her one remaining kitten of this litter is leaving. tigerheart decides freezing him out is the appropriate response. dovewing, when she tries to talk more at length with tawnypelt, is interrupted by tigerheart and swept away before she can contradict him. THIS IS NOT OUT OF CHARACTER. THIS IS WHAT HES BEEN DOING SINCE DAY ONE. so it isnt out of the realm of possibility that dovewing DOESNT WANT to be cold to her child who is leaving the clan. but again, what choice does she have?

it's really interesting how it's such a problem for tigerheart when dovewing says she can't have her kittens in thunderclan but she doesn't want to have them in shadowclan either, he immediately tries to figure out a way to push her into shadowclan. he even comes up with an idea to manipulate her by getting ivypool to convince her to stay as well despite their fraught relationship. this is in the first four chapters of tigerheart's shadow.

and to make it very clear because ive seen tigerheart's exchange with ivypool taken out of context, he DOESN'T confront ivypool because he knows dovewing wants to make up with her and wants dovewing to be happy. he knows dovewing wants to make up with her, so he tries to convince ivypool to "forgive" dovewing so dovewing will be so thankful that she will move to shadowclan with him. THIS IS EXPLICIT BTW.

tigerheart decides shadowclan is more important than dovewing and lets her go off by herself. he misses their meeting (in almost the exact same way as that infuriating situation in Peach Girl btw. iykyk) then after dovewing disappears and her family starts asking about her, tigerheart decides the best course of action is to pretend like he doesn't know anything.

have to reply to this one. if you haven't read the bambi novel (cant speak to the sequel though) i definitely recommend it. really poignant allegory for the experience as a Jewish man around the time period before and during WWI. beautiful imagery to boot.

can we perhaps start channeling more energy in being angry at tigerheart who is the one that strong armed dovewing to return to the clans in the first place? it really irritates me when ppl act like dovewing changing clans is some profound act of exerting her agency when tigerheart has been grooming and using her since she was 7 months old. even in the most recent book he cuts her off when she tries to speak like he doesn't want her contradicting him.

#i know there's the dumb shit where he saves one of the babies and gets brought back to life#just. im not talking about that.
