Timeline
The collection is open as of now, and we ask that all completed works are posted into the collection by July 4th of this year. That said, the collection will remain open all year round, and we invite you to add your tributes to Val as you wish. Val will be missed, and his legacy will endure.

Not to be the most parasocial person on earth but Thomas cruise is supposed to start his promo tour for the final mission impossible this week and he was almost in tears on Kimmel two years ago just talking about how much Val means to him so no one better be weird to him about Val’s passing or else 🔫
Don’t know what level of tact I’m expecting though when paparazzi literally chased him around to get shots of him crying in a car after Tony Scott died but hopefully it’s not that

From the Top Gun: Maverick production notes. It was Cruise who wanted Kilmer for the original Top Gun and Bruckheimer has said that Cruise refused to do Maverick without Kilmer. What a gift to have them on screen together again one last time.
It turns out that the reason why Julliard trained Val Kilmer was tricked into being in Top Gun by the studio and his agents was because Tom Cruise really really wanted him there. Man.
