in another they’re married, living in a universe with no hunting or monsters, where dean stumbles upon them cuddling after a long day

needless to say when dean goes back to his universe he can not for the life of him act normal around cas

So I know we all wanted them to fuck dirty nasty on screen but like… the fact that it’s cannon that Dean and Cas just loved each other so much without even the need for a physical aspect of their relationship. They loved the other hard enough to both save the world and damn it to hell multiple times without even knowing it was reciprocated. They loved each other for the sake of love and man if that’s not the most romantic shit I’ve ever seen on my tv screen

and this was the moment when Dean’s heart ripped in half in realization of what Cas had done and I became a sobbing mess

You ship Destiel for the tragic biblical nature of their relationship

I ship Destiel because I think it's funny to watch these two fumble each other so hard, their third wheel has to steer the show back to monster hunting

We are not the same

okay so the destiel park bench scene is actually insane if you think about it longer than two seconds, and honestly one of the more overlooked early destiel scenes.

because first of all you have cas, right, who’s mr lobotomy but has entered the sequence of the cycle where he’s back to questioning everything again (always right before naomi wipes him) choosing now to trust a human for probably the first time in ever with his doubts and fears. this human who he met torturing souls in hell, who he was praying to to save the town.

insane already.

then you have dean who just got yanked out of a 40yr long torture montage back into this hunting bullshit, this time with divine prophesies and the devil. sam is straight up lying to him and dean knows it. so already that trust is completely broken. and then there’s bobby who dean doesn’t want to burden with everything that happened in hell. so dean just straight up doesn’t have a confident atp.

but then this angel from heaven sits across from him on a park bench, knowing what he did in hell, and decides to confide in him. like dean is not only worthy of that trust but also someone’s who advice is sought after. from the moment cas met him he’s been reading dean to utter filth, but then he turns around and says “you have doubts? i do too. but i prayed that you would make the right choice and you did.”

it’s just such a good moment early on that establishes what their dynamic is going to be from here on out.

Destiel is a religious experience actually

Like on the one hand I am fully aware that The Boys is a Kripke production, and after what happened on supernatural, that man is never going to let Misha and Jensen's characters get within armslength of each other --- but like. Imagine the carnage if he leant into the destiel crowd and had soldier boy and whoever misha is playing hook up. Can you imagine?????? There would be hospitalisations. It would be bigger than 15x18. There would be craters left all over the earth where all the spn girls exploded on the spot. Kripe has the opportunity to do THE MOST unhinged and hilarious thing ever, and he won't, but imagine for a second the absolute unbridled mayhem he would cause if he did

crazy that the spn writers were like okay we're gonna do destiel but only halfway, which one should confess their love and which one should we try to imply 'can't reciprocate' and they chose cas to confess and dean 'kills himself when cas dies' winchester supposedly 'can't reciprocate' lmao what were they smoking in the writers' room
