  • worked [noteworthy celebrity's] concert until 3am a couple days ago and all i got was this stupid sleep deprivation
  • woke up sick yesterday morning
  • tried to go to school bc im scared of missing too much class but they sent me home
  • slept almost all day
  • managed to make it to the event i'd been invited to so that i could read my work in front of an audience, it went well but i left early dragged myself home and passed out into a sleep like death
  • woke up this morning and met with my academic advisor over zoom
  • (he has no idea how zoom works. professor, never change, you are perfect <3)
  • advisor thought i might have strep
  • finally mustered up enough energy to go to the doctor
  • they immediately determined i did not have strep
  • they then spent 3 hours (i shit you not) (sincerely three hours) trying to figure out if i had mono
  • i did not in fact have mono
  • it was secret third illnes
  • i basically have knock-off dollar tree version of strep
  • it took another hour to get me antibiotics
  • first staged reading of my play is tomorrow (worlds tiniest most exhausted yippee ever)
  • i have not escaped the lesbian love triangle.
  • two directors have reached out to me expressing interest in directing my play as a final or added stage in the workshopping process (this is good!)
  • the group that is producing my play wants to shut down the project because they do not think the world is ready for hard stories about trans characters right now (this is... difficult news to swallow)
  • i am going to shop the play around with a couple of directors to see if they still want it, but the producers' call means we have to give current workshop team the bad news tomorrow.
  • lesbian love triangle is not exactly absolved. the first one ended and now there is a new one so we have a net zero change in terms of lesbian love triangle quantities.
  • i am also a full time college student working two part time jobs <3 life is insane rn guys can you believe it
  • if you are transgender you have to keep writing your fucking plays. or else .

You should add scarleteen.com to your sex ed post! Theyโ€™re super cool!

i'll be honest, i have mixed feelings about scarleteen? they were one of the few queer sex ed sites i saw shared on tumblr when i was in middle / high school and i remember looking at their site and being underwhelmed. i remember being frustrated with lack of comprehensive information other than the rudimentary stuff i learned in my sex ed classes. it was queer-inclusive, but nowhere near what i needed, which is why i opted to share a couple of resources in my post that i personally found much more helpful and in-depth. also, i know that a fair amount of pro-scarleteen posts are already floating around tumblr, so i figured i would share some potentially lesser-known resources for variety.

i appreciate the recommendation - i didn't find scarleteen helpful as a teen, so i didn't include them, but that doesn't mean other people won't benefit from what they have to offer.

i am almost 21 years old and still meeting people my age in real life who say they get their queer sex ed from fanfiction.

listen man i can only speak from my personal dyke perspective but you NEED to read actual sex ed resources. i personally recommend girl sex 101 by allison moon (trans inclusive and very comprehensive) and fucking trans women by mira bellwether, just to start. as far as dyke stuff goes at least.

shoutout to my friend for pushing me to find a downloadable version of girl sex 101 pdf btw.

i will say there is something deeply fascinating about being at the point in my transition where i am generally androgynous and difficult to gender. had to work with a bigoted roadie the other day and half the time he assumed i was a woman and called me names and refused to work with me. the other half of the time he thought i was a man and called me "brother" and acted like we shared some sort of camaraderie on the basis of assumed shared gender. some people are fucking freaks man like what the hell.

i write a lot of poems about time travel. what if you could go back and fix it. what if you could go back and you couldn't but you got to exist anyway, and see it, and it was beautiful. and what if you carried so much regret in your heart but you had to sit and watch it anyway, because not watching would be almost worse. and what if you could talk to the version of you that is still six years old, and you could not understand each other, but you could recognize yourself in their eyes, and you could see your future there. and what then. and what then.
