i wanna talk about grown up Jin Ling real quick

Like imagine he's in his early twenties and all of the cultivation world decides he needs to get married. Jiang Cheng specifically has very strong feelings on this topic.

He couldn't have a mother or a father, he at least deserves a wife. Plus, he's the third most eligible bachelor - the first being Lan Sizhui and the second being Lan Xichen for some reason (??) - so finding a wife should be easy.

Finding a wife turns out to not be easy. Apparently all women want to be Jin Ling's wife, including the matchmakers (??)

To narrow down the options, Jin Ling (with the help of his uncle) makes a list:

This moment, and this moment exactly. All of it was worth it for this moment. Hell, he would die a hundred more times just to have a chance to do this again, but he knows his Gege wouldn't allow it. In fact, he would get very sad if he ever heard Hua Cheng talking like that. He needs to be more mindful.

He had just realised that Xie Lian had decided to wear his white silk robes instead of the cotton ones when he felt a hand gently comb his hair away from his face.

"Welcome back, beloved."

It makes me wonder how He Xuan would've reacted when his reincarnated fiancee prayed to him at the Earth Master temple, asking for fertile soils for a better harvest. She had told him that some thugs were bothering her family and she didn't have any money.

I like to think that Hua Cheng at least cried once after seeing Xie Lian through the butterfly at the teashop.

His God that he'd had been looking for, for 800 years, looking so damn beautiful. His long brown hair, his honey-gold eyes, and his look of wonder when he spotted the butterfly.

He was safe.

(It is the 26th century, and the humans on Earth have finally made contact with the Aliens. The aliens of the planet Roromo have always been fascinated by humans ever since they discovered the planet Earth, and thus, sent a humanologist on Earth to understand humans better.)

Alien (on his notepad): I have been assigned to a NASA rocket scientist Eliza Stark. I will be accompanying her in her day-to-day life and recording special incidents here.

What are we doing today?

Eliza: Nothing much (Eating 5 pringles at the same time while scrolling through her phone). If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them.

Eliza: Oh this? These are Pringles. They are a brand of potato chips. Do you want some?

Eliza: It's actually considered to be an unhealthy food. But if you ask me personally, it brings me joy to eat them.

Alien: Why unhealthy? It has carbohydrates that provide humans with energy, and salt which breaks into ions which is extremely important for your brain to function.

Eliza: I get what you mean but eating it the way I am is definitely unhealthy. You see, I have finished half the box in one sitting which has satiated my hunger, but this means I've only eaten carbohydrates and salt. No protein, no roughage, no fats. For food to be considered healthy, it must have a bit of everything.

Alien: So, if you know that it is unhealthy then why did you eat it?

Eliza: As I said before, it's tasty and brings me joy.

Alien: I see.

Day 1 of living with human Eliza Stark, I learned that humans classify food into many categories. The two main categories are: healthy and unhealthy. The healthy one is called a balanced diet. But strangely, even though knowing the difference between the two, humans still eat unhealthy ones just for the zest of life. Another way of categorising food is the way it is cut. Taking an example of a potato, if it is cut trying to resemble long cuboids, they are called fries but if it is cut into thin slices, they are called chips. They are further categorised based on who made them. The chips that the human I'm assigned to was eating were made by Pringle and hence, were called Pringle's chips.
