For a place that's stereotypically regarded as sweltering, Las Almas gets cold at night.
Her place is drafty but she's under too much scrutiny from Los Vaqueros, something that typically wouldn't bother her but one of her men had been stupid enough to take out a soldier that Parra had gone soft on and now the Sergeant Major was out for blood.
She wouldn't risk the move and find herself caught in the maw of a snarling sergeant major with her trachea crushed. She's wiser than that.
So, as reluctant as she finds herself, she finds a store that sells household items and tries to find herself a hot water bottle. Is it a weakness? Probably, but she'd like to sleep peacefully and when she doesn't she becomes... temperamental and she'd heard complaints from her men about the strain on their arms when they spent their days digging graves.
She finds two hot water bottles, one is grubby and the other has a tear in the rubber. She briefly considers calling it a day when it catches her eye on a shelf.
The cardboard it's zip-tied to spouts something about microwaving as her eyes skim over it, a plush elephant. Weighted and microwavable for children.

When she grabs it and marches over to the cashier, she contemplates hunting down the man she bought her home from and gutting him like the foul pig he presents himself as.

And if she wakes up the next morning with the stuffed animal still clutched tightly to her abdomen, soft trunk falling over the bare skin of her arm? That's her business. So is the way she hides the juvenile thing under her pillow before leaving.
As is the way she impatiently taps her kitchen counter as she waits for the microwave to finish heating her elephant, the soft creature spinning in dizzying circles as he's subjected to rays of admittedly non-harmful radiation.
She almost pities the fluffy fucker.
Now I'm gonna have to find another place to hide it 😔

Struggling to bring in a heavy package one morning, you’re startled by your neighbour emerging from his unit huffing and puffing tiredly about noise in nothing but a simple pair of low hanging pyjama bottoms.

His free hand lowers to scratch at his belly, prompting a loud yawn as a thick palm dips lower, giving himself a little squeeze. With a content hum rolling around in his chest, he pulls you into his apartment.
“Too early.” He grumbles as he flops onto his well-worn couch, half asleep and tugging you with him. Like a strangler fig, he rolls onto his side and cages you against the cushions, his legs tangling around yours and his cock unmistakably fattening against your belly.
