Not a ZaDr defense post, But I'm genuinely curious.

Ok as you know it hasn't been so long since I joined the invader Zim fandom, but I've seen a lot of hate and death threats thrown at regular content creators.
There has apparently been shipping wars in the fandom for YEARS
But there's one single question in my mind:
Why's ZaDr the most hated?
Is it the dynamic? If so, as someone who watched the show just a while ago and remembers most details, both characters are fairly obsessed with each other, and NEED the other to live, for the very obvious example, mopiness of doom, an unaired episode.
Is it the fact zim's age is ambiguous and likely said by the creator to be an adult?
If that's the case, I've talked about this way too many times for comfort, already, and personally (ignoring half of Jhonen's words since that guy trolls a lot) never viewed Zim as an adult, let alone an old man, and this isn't like "oh I'm crazy so I, with my ill intentions am going to say Zim is a kid so I can ship a so-called proship"
No, I have my reasons, proof of my belief, And you don't have to agree with that.
I usually prefer ZaDf, but I am also ok with ZaDr, and under different circumstances (in AUs and such) it's not really a bad ship
Is it the fact they're from different species? Why does that even matter :| there are so many pieces of fiction that hint to xenophilia and no one bats an eye? Ships between different species and humans have always existed and probably always will
Homophobia? Maybe that was the case back then, now people stick more to the "proship" thing
Imo, it shouldn't be considered a proship???? Like, it's not really problematic unless you make it to be, Zim's age is AMBIGUOUS, you can have Headcanons about it, you can have AUs, Zim was originally advertised by nickelodeon to be a kid, however Jhonen seems to have changed his mind, Which he could be pretty much just trolling the fandom, We know he dislikes the ship.
However let me remind you, the same person who calls Zim an old man, is the guy that made jokes about ZaGr and had fan art of it in his office on the wall, Gaz is a year younger than dib.
WHY ASSUME PEOPLE OF DIDDLING KIDS!? It's not a basic topic to throw around, it's not a stupid insult, IT'S AN ACCUSATION OF P3DOPHILIA (God I get the ick saying that word) I absolutely support all SA victims and wish all a pleasant day and I genuinely hope you're all doing better, I really do.
And this post is mostly about the stuff I've seen.
guys Just because you hate a ship, and don't bother to see if the person is actually being creepy or problematic with it, Doesn't mean you have the right to accuse someone of something so terrible!? It's not ok to drive people to kill themselves just because you don't like a ship and assume they're a bad person, Listen here HERO if you're so good now, go catch real predators that hurt the children! The innocent poor kids, But no you're sitting behind a screen shitting on someone you don't know! (This is directed at people who do this type of shit.)
Please...that behavior is disgusting over a fictional ship, With a fictional cartoon alien.
The funniest thing I hear from antis (I'm on neither side currently, I can't take the risk.) is the fact "Zadr is bad and creepy" and then they say how cool it would be if they were besties, dear?????? What?????? if you view Zim as a dumbass old man who likes to fight little kids, what makes you think ZaDf would be any better than ZaDr? Why would you want a dynamic where an old man befriends A CHILD after beating the fuck out of the same child!?
what's appealing to you about that?

However, I do not really support NSFW, but as long as it's not with children, a minor and an adult involved in it, Then I just avoid it...that's not my business.
