I'm maintaining my 'no bummers' policy for this blog, but I also can't just go on posting memes given the current events.

I'm going to be rather quiet next couple of days, consider it a moment of silence for my neighbours, the peaceful people of Ukraine, who're the victims of outrageous acts of blatant military aggression.

And, please, do one thing for me - don't get your news from social media. Not from Tumblr, not from Twitter, not from me or anyone else. Follow independent, reputable journalists, with clear and public code of ethics. And if you know real people affected by this, listen to them. Wars of today are fought on the internet as well as on the battlefield.

Bundle for Ukraine

The people of Ukraine are under attack. As game developers we want to create new worlds, not to destroy the one we have. That's why we've banded together to present this charity bundle to help Ukrainians survive this ordeal and thrive after the war ends. This cause has resonated with creators around the globe, to the extent that our bundle contains almost 1,000 games, tabletop RPGs, books, etc.

There's a charity bundle up on itch.io for Ukraine that contains nearly a 1,000 games, with all proceeds being split evenly between International Medical Corps and Voices of Children.

Please consider donating if you can, or by spreading the word! The bundle is up until the 18th of March.

Special humanitarian train from Czech Republic to Ukraine and back

Today (27.2.2022) at 21:38 will leave another evacuation train from Bohumín (cz) to Ukrainian Čop. 

It should carry food, water, sleeping bags, toilet paper and other hygienic accessories.

The train enables transport for about 600 people for free. (women with children)

“With immediate effect, travelers who have a Ukrainian passport can travel free of charge on all Czech trains throughout the territory of the Czech Republic,” Czech Railways writes.

“These passengers are allowed to travel without reservation. This measure will be valid until further notice.”

Czech Railways has also coordinated their efforts with Slovakia’s main rail carrier ZSSK, ensuring free travel from Ukraine through the heart of Europe. All travelers with a Ukrainian passport may travel for free on Czech Railways and ZSSK trains, meaning travel in both directions will be provided free of charge to Ukrainians until further notice.

Unfortunately for now it is not certain when will this train arrive in Čop, nor when will it leave, but most likely it will be very early monday morning (from 5 to 9 am).

It is very likely that these trains will make more rounds in forthcomming days.

Ukraine - Slovak borders updates

Hello my name is Lena (im from Slovakia) and this post is for Ukrainians trying to go to/through Slovakia. Hope this helps at least someone. Feel free to share.

Border crossings (Slovakia - Ukraine) waiting time:

Vyšné Nemecké - works non-stop - 10 hours (personal transport) - NEWLY OPENED FOR PEDESTRIANS  NEW

Ubľa - works non-stop - 8 hours (personal transport) - 300 minutes (by foot) NEW 

Veľké Slemence - works non-stop - 8 hours (only by foot!) - NEW OPENING HOURS: NON-STOP until further notice   NEW

Customs controls on the Ukrainian side are slowing down the process.

!from 26.02.2022 20:00 to 27.02.2022 to 04:00 there will be maintance of website: Financial report, source fromm which im getting waiting periods, its already kind of buggy for me.!

People brought food to Ukrainian families on the Slovak border in Vyšné Nemecké and offered transportation for free.

!The veterinary report published a form with which Ukrainians can cross the border into Slovakia with a dog or cat without other certificates that are normally needed. Link to form english ver., slovak version !
