As someone eternally stuck in a tiny, dead, or dying fandom, I'd like to say this.

I love you people who post once a week.

I love you analysis writers who pour content then stop up for so long I forgot why I followed you until you pop more out again.

I love you fanartists who love their art.

I love you fanartists who are neutral or apathetic to that art.

I love you people who have only posted once in this tag and never again.

I love you people who have never posted and only reblog.

I love you people who leave comments and help build the fandom's morale.

I love you snippet and drabble writers.

I love you self-shippers.

I love you people who only consume and share content about their niche fav that most of the fandom forgot existed or discarded as not worth their time and attention.

a bit late in the day to be posting this (which i admit was entirely my fault for having too much faith in my ability to balance multiple projects at once), but here's a small gift to commemorate the lovely @orderlyxchaos's birthday, AKA: the prime mastermind behind @maestro-of-clockwork. ๐Ÿ•ฐ๐ŸคŽ

never would i have thought that the event of 16-year-old me stumbling across a 22-chapter long horror fic in a 3 AM sleep-drunk stupor would somehow develop into one of the most wholesome friendships i have to this day. both a remarkable artist and author who's dedicated years of work to her craft, there's almost no word that can come close enough to describe the respect i have for them.

chaos, i truly hope you know how much of an inspiration you've become to me and all us other void-dwellers. not just for the stories and characters you've created, but for the abundant kindness you've shown us as well. time and time again, i've found myself in awe of your optimistic outlook on life, and i truly hope this light that you've shone onto others brightens the pathways to your unfolding future. ๐Ÿงก

Have you tried gouache paints before? They're like watercolors, but more opaque.

yes, i have ! i've only experimented with them about two or three times, so watercolors still prevail in my field of favourites. i did, however, find that overlaying watercolors with gouache tend to give the final colors a nicely saturated "pop." i've been lacking pretty severly in the traditional department so maybe this is a sign for me to bring the palette and the brushes back out ?

when I see stuff like this i think more about how "anti-robot/android" sentiment in sci-fi stories does not work as some kind of racism allegory. instead I can fully understand why someone can hold a deep resentment and frustration against a group of inhuman workers designed for perfect efficiency and serving the billionaire class without pay. in the right political climate, hating robots is not based in bigotry or hatred of a kind of "person" but rather a love for humanity, and a desire for the ruling class to treat humans as humans, instead of building non-humans to replace them
