West Papua’s Indigenous people have called for a boycott of KitKat, Smarties and Aero chocolate, Oreo biscuits and Ritz crackers, and the cosmetics brands Pantene and Herbal Essences, over alleged ecocide in their territory.
All are products that contain palm oil and are made, say the campaigners, by companies that source the ingredient directly from West Papua, which has been under Indonesian control since 1963 and where thousands of acres of rainforest are being cleared for agriculture.
More than 90 West Papuan tribes, political organisations and religious groups have endorsed the call for a boycott, which they say should continue until the people of West Papua are given the right to self-determination.
Raki Ap, a spokesperson for the United Liberation Movement for West Papua, which is overseeing the call, said: “These products are linked to human rights violations, in the first place, because West Papuans are being forced, with violence, to get off the land where they’ve lived for thousands of years, which has now resulted in ecocide.
“This is a signal to the countries who are dealing with Indonesia, especially those in the Pacific region, to take notice of who they’re dealing with and how they are basically allowing Indonesia to continue the colonial project in West Papua, the human rights violations, and also ecocide.”
West Papuans say more than 500,000 of their people have been killed by the occupation in the past six decades, while millions of acres of their ancestral lands have been destroyed for corporate profit. Indonesia, already the world’s largest palm oil exporter, is now breaking ground in West Papua on the world’s biggest single palm oil plantation, as well as a sugar cane and biofuel plantation that will be the largest deforestation project ever launched.
“West Papuans’, especially the ULMWP, position is very clear: we are a modern-day colony,” said Ap, speaking from the Netherlands.
“Indonesia hijacked the right to self-determination in 1962 when the Netherlands and Indonesia signed an agreement without any consultation in West Papua … After that, in 1969, there was a so-called referendum, which wasn’t fair, which wasn’t under international law, one man, one vote: just 1,025 men were handpicked at gunpoint to vote for integration to Indonesia.
“So this is the foundation of the Indonesia’s colonial project. When we became part of Indonesia against our will, basically the genocide unfolded.”

help ahmed buy new clothes for his family

hello everyone! last week, we completed a campaign to help ahmed provide his local refugee camp with solar panels. thank you so much to everyone who contributed - it meant a lot to us to have this completed before the end of ramadan.

we are now raising money for three of the children ahmed and shaima both look after in their families: ahmed's daughter, rateel, moataz, and jihad (shimaa's nephews.) we have worked with ahmed for around 7ish months now, and he's done a lot to implement the initiatives we raise money for. he works in a team of 7 people that spend most of their time caring for their community. ahmed has not seen his daughter in months as he is so busy with the refugee camp.

in total, we hope to raise $350 to send to ahmed to buy these kids new clothes for eid. if you can contribute, it would mean a lot! ahmed works really hard and isn't asking for anything for himself - just money for the kiddos to celebrate eid.

the easiest way to contribute is through the link below:

(alternatively, you can use paypal.me/qquwq to donate or send money via simk’s P/P email: kuuhaiyu@gmail.com. you do not need a paypal account to donate to this campaign.)

we will collect the money through this paypal campaign, and then wire transfer it to ahmed once the goal is reached. generally, the wire transfer takes about 3-5 days to reach our friends in palestine. once ahmed is able to withdraw the money, he will send pictures and proof of the donation so that i can post on tumblr. :)

thank you all for your generosity in advance. i can't stress enough how much ahmed has done, even outside of the campaigns that we help him with.

$150 / $350 | 43% | $200 remaining!

hello everyone! we are still hoping to provide ahmed and shimaa's family with some new clothing for eid. if you are able to, we will also be running this campaign for a day or so more as eid is fast approaching. thank you all in advance for your support and generosity.

$166 / $395

hello everyone! a couple updates for this fundraiser!

we moved the goal as we realized that the $350 did not include the fee that is needed to withdraw the money once it reaches gaza ($45.) as such, we have updated our campain to go up to $395.

another update is that today is eid! we did not meet our goal in time to send these funds for the kiddos in ahmed's family, but we hope to send that money this week. i will be personally giving $100 to this campaign to help us reach our goal within the next day or so. unfortunately i do not have much to give as i've been ill, but...

this means that we only need $129 to meet our goal! if 13 folks have $10, then we'll be all clear.

please share this campaign - we really hope to bring some joy to this family for eid as it has been the second difficult ramadan in a row. any amount helps - even $5! thank you. :-)

In my dreams, everything was burning. A voice was calling out for me.

Summoned forth as the intended sacrifice of a mysterious ritual, a young man finds himself in a new world with the face of his attempted killer, Acacius Duval, as well as a looming death curse if he doesn’t carry out Acacius’ last will. However, while Acacius has left many looming problems, he didn’t leave behind the most important piece: his memories.

That would have been too convenient for navigating a world stitched together from apocalypses.

Fortunately, after only a few life and death trials, Acacius’ unintentional replacement is sent away to the prestigious Nithemoore Academy, where he can learn everything he needs to know about the world and gain the power to grasp his freedom…

At least, if the tracks of history don’t doom him first.

First three chapters out now! 130k words pre-written, and updates every Saturday. Hope to see you there!

🌍✨ A Voice from Gaza: Fighting for Hope ❤️‍🩹

Hi, my name is Mosab , and I’m from Gaza. Life here has been harder than I could ever imagine, but today I’m sharing my story with hope in my heart, because your kindness has already given us so much strength.

This journey hasn’t been easy. The war has taken 25 family members from us—25 beautiful souls we loved deeply. Their laughter, their presence, their love… all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.

Our Journey So Far

When I first reached out, I couldn’t have imagined we’d make it this far. Your support has been a light in these difficult times, and we are so deeply grateful for every single contribution.

But the road ahead is still challenging. Every day, we’re reminded of how much we’ve lost and how much we still need to rebuild.

Here’s what life in Gaza looks like for my family right now:

🏠 Safety: The uncertainty of tomorrow weighs heavily on us.

😢 Loss: The absence of the 25 family members we’ve lost is a pain we carry every moment.

💔 Dreams on Hold: The future feels so far away when survival takes all our strength.

How You Can Help Us Cross the Finish Line Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:

  • $5 may seem small, but for us, it’s a little relief, a moment of comfort, and a reminder that kindness still exists. ❤️
  • Can’t donate? Reblog this post to help us reach someone who can. Every share matters more than you know.

Why Your Support Matters Your kindness isn’t just about helping us meet our goal—it’s about reminding us that we’re not alone in this fight. It’s about hope. It’s about survival. And it’s about giving my family a chance to rebuild our lives, even in the face of unimaginable loss.

Thank you for helping us get this far. Your generosity and compassion have already brought us closer to a better tomorrow, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful.

With all my love and gratitude,

Mosab and Family ❤️

Hi everyone ...
I am Maram Al-Nabulsi, I currently live in the completely destroyed 🏚🚀city of Gaza, specifically Khan Younis. Since the war on Gaza began on 10/7/2023, my family - my father Muhammad, my mother Hiba and my siblings Nour, Maram, Mahmoud - have been living in constant fear, crying and suffering because of shrapnel, shells and bullets. We have no food🥘🌯, no electricity, no cooking gas, no schools🏢📚, no homes🏚, no cleaning supplies, no clothes🧣🧥🧤. Our house was completely destroyed. My school was bombed, and my sister Nour's university was turned into rubble, which deprived us all of education. The war forced us to live in displacement centers, which are just tents that are not suitable for living, especially in winter. Every day we live death, terror and panic a thousand times because of the continuous bombing of my city. The war has killed more than 50 of my relatives and neighbors. At the beginning of the war, we took refuge in my aunt's house, but it was also turned into rubble. Imagine: We have escaped imminent death more than 20 times, and have been displaced between shelters more than 13 times. My brothers and I have suffered from many diseases due to malnutrition, and we need medicine constantly. If we stay in Gaza, we may lose our lives. Recently, we have been seriously considering leaving Gaza to a safe place. However, the travel costs are very high. We need more than 70 thousand dollars to leave Gaza. Due to the exorbitant prices, rampant unemployment, insecurity, the ongoing blockade, and the continuous bombing, we have lost all our money. How can we live in such insecurity💔🙏, with the constant bombing and shrapnel flying above us? My dear compassionate friends around the world, with your generous donations, even if small, you can save 5 people from imminent death, allowing us to start a life outside Gaza full of love, peace, and hope. Best regards from Gaza City....🍉🇵🇸

Help Israa evacuate when Rafah crossing reopens!!

I've written posts for my friend Israa @nasseer220 before, and she once again needs our help to evacuate as soon as possible when the border opens. Israa is a mother to two young children, her son Nasser, and her daughter Enaam. Enaam was born during the genocide and contracted hepatitis, which caused her to need urgent surgery to save her life. With her youngest in delicate health, Israa needs to be able to evacuate as soon as she can, and also seek medical treatment, not only for Enaam, but for her entire family.

Israa's father recently passed away because he had a stroke while also battling cancer, and she was unable to pay for his care. Please, this time, don't abandon her, and share and donate so she can save her young children.

Israa's old fundraiser is vetted by association here, and she had to start from scratch after her previous fundraisers organizer closed the fundraiser. Her fundraiser is moving very slowly, the last donation was 7 hours ago and the one before that was from FIVE DAYS AGO.

Share!! Donate!! Please, do not forget Israa again!!

Tagging under the cut, sorry for tagging so much, as always respond to this post if you do not want to be tagged.

Hey guys! Monis Hammad's family's fundraiser here was verified by Ahmed (90-ghost) over here. I would like to remind you that before reblogging fundraiser posts from Ghazzawiyeh, Ahmed would verify fundraisers in a similar fashion as we did (verifying Palestinian ID and current presence in Ghazzah). Here's where you can help:

  • My father is a cancer patient who needs to perform a cancer tumor removal quickly, my friends 💔💔

  • We need your help to reach our goal quickly so that we can provide the money to get my father out of Gaza and have the operation.

  • If I can't get the money soon, I can't imagine what will happen to my father.
  • Help save money for my dad if everyone donates $30 we will reach our goal quickly and save my dad 🙏🏻

  • Don't be the reason for my dad's death or anything bad to happen. Please donate to us and share my campaign with your friends and family to donate too so we can raise the required funds quickly my friend and save my dad 🙏🏻🙏🏻

ART INCENTIVE FROM ME!

This is an incredibly urgent almost entirely medical campaign, for CANCER treatment, which famously worsens with time so they need funds and they need it quickly.

Please donate if you are able, literally everything adds up, even if you are only able to send £1 it’s something rather than nothing.

If you can’t donate, you can help for free by sharing this post with your friends and on your blog, even set a 5 minute timer and see how many people you can send the post to in that time.

rabah has told me his father's cancerous cells have been spreading in his body. he needs at least $350 urgently for conducting the tests to see how his cancer has progressed, as well as medication and treatment

$27,561 USD / $41,300

please also be aware that there is a 30% fee all gazans have to pay in order to receive their money - this means for rabah to receive $350, we must raise $500

$27,689 USD / $41,300

$27,909 USD / $41,300

$348 raised since i first kept track of this goal - please remember his father also needs cancer medication every three days, which also costs hundreds of dollars, they need as much money as they can

Thank you so much for supporting me and sharing my story.

Hello, friends. I launched my campaign in May 2024 to support myself and my family in Gaza. Unfortunately, I am still struggling to raise enough funds. As of today, the donations for my campaign have reached €4,560 out of my €15,000 goal, with very slow progress and a small number of contributions.

My campaign has been verified in several ways. It was directly shared on the @gaza-evacuation-funds page, which is dedicated to vetting fundraisers for people in Gaza by @el-shab-hussein and @nabulsi in this post.

It has also been verified by @90-ghost in this post and @gazavetters, with my number verified on their list as (#146).

I kindly ask for your support in donating and sharing my campaign and story. Every contribution and share helps make a difference. 🙏

Thank you!

🧡 I've been in contact with Osama and his family for months!

He's a dutiful man with a wonderful family and a goal to re-establish his online design business.

But first he wants to raise funds to re-establish a stable wifi connection in Gaza!

Please continue sharing! More shares = more attention.

More attention = more support and donations!

And every donation will not just help Osama and his family survive, but in turn help more families in Gaza access support from the internet if he can get that WiFi connection repaired!

Please give generously when you can and what you can. Even if all you can give is time.

And remember GFM has refunds for a year if needed. So giving is easy, and low risk.

Thank You!

Thank you so much, @c-u-c-koo-4-40k , for your kindness and constant support for me, my family, and everyone in Gaza 🙏❤️.

You are truly an amazing person 🌟✨!

I’m Anas Basil, a recent high school graduate with dreams of a brighter future through studying e-business management and building a career. But the war has shattered everything. After graduating with a 93% average, I enrolled at Khan Younis Training College (UNRWA), only to find that it’s now a shelter for displaced families instead of a place for education.

My younger brother, Ahmad, 14, is known as the "Doctor of the Future" because of his extraordinary talent in mathematics. However, the war has kept him out of school for two consecutive years. Ahmad is also a gifted football player who used to win tournaments, but the war has taken that away from him too.

The war forced our family to flee to Rafah, where we lived in a tent for several months. Every day is a struggle for survival—fetching water, gathering wood, and making a fire.

🎯 We are seeking €29,000 to:

- Secure safe passage out of Gaza and cover education fees to help us pursue our dreams.

- Provide Basic Essentials—food, clean water, and medical supplies—to support our family’s day-to-day survival in Gaza.

Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to our goal.

With gratitude,

Anas & Ahmad
