From Ch 41 of the Harrowing, Or how I remember it in my head lol. But I love Maedhros and Annatar’s relationship in this. So awkward because of their history, and yet they understand each other in ways that other people don’t. Here they are attempting to talk about their feelings… disgusting. @chthonion
He knows the difference. And here he is anyway, curled up alone on the couch and weeping into a handkerchief, because the only thing his mind will hold is the fact that someone else has been acting upon him, with the tang of divine power under the notes.
@chthonion The Harrowing, Chapter 46
Annatar has a breakdown
Been the victim of morbid inspiration yet again ~ this is a representation of Annatar's mental state/his ties to all the past preconceptions that are... Very messed up. from The Harrowing by Chthonion :D
(I was originally gonna do this with a vague image of Melkor in the background and have it be pre-redemption Sauron, but then decided I didn't want to go quite that dark- so this is the toned down version :D)
>:)
"Everything is fine" Annatar from The Harrowing by Chthonion....

Daeron for @laisrinel
I've, at this point, really kind of established my version of the Sindar has being heavily inspired by South Asia. So, when I was deciding what to do with the Daeron piece I decided to look in that direction for the kind of instrument he would be playing. I see a lot of flute. There's nothing wrong with the flute, but I wanted to explore something else. After some research and ADHD decision paralysis I went with the sarod.
I liked the idea that he could sing while playing and I like the idea of anyone who sings in Arda invoking The Music. I feel like I might be forming headcanons about the differences in different type of Elven music. First and foremost, I really don't think that certain types of Elves are better than others at invoking The Music. I think maybe instead they tap into different notes or themes of The Music? I don't know, I need to work it out more.
Anyway, sorry for the wait. I'm working to get back to my previous productivity. Just a lot of life changes, but things are settling now.
Next up is Nerdanel
Daeron, who played while Lúthien danced.... but who shopped her and Beren to her father Elu Thingol
End of the Second Age. Sauron knew every microexpression on Celebrimbor’s face—and that’s when the paintings began. Hundreds, perhaps thousands. Few ever accessed the dark tower, but those who did whispered of a mysterious elf carved over and over along the pillars and shadowed halls of Barad-dûr. They wondered—not aloud—who he was and what it meant. "Are all my thoughts of you, sweet raptured light? It ends here tonight."
Heartbreaking silvergifting. Celebrimbor, as painted by Annatar. Sauron still stands there, looking....
someone should check up on Annatar after he fumbled Celebrimbor
Annatar and the One Ring.... poor Celebrimbor
Baby feanorians ♥
The sons of Fëanor....
Ok but consider; Elrond never talks about Kidnap Fam but everyone else can see it in him.
Like, while renovating building Imladris as a Homely House, Elrond decides to build a hall just for music and poetry stuff. Which is nornal for an elven city, but then he calls it the Hall of Fire and his soldiers side-eye themselves like, Should We Talk About This? And they collectively decide not to ask.
Another time, Elrond is introducing a more effective filing system, and all of the ex-feanorians just stare at Maedhros’ Paperwork Filing System. Elrond doesn’t say where he learned it and nobody asks because how would you even bring up your lord’s odd childhood maybe-trauma?
And again, domestic servants hear Elrond singing to his children and some of them have to tightly grip the baskets they hold, because those are battle songs turned into lullabies. Those are the songs that were used to crumble towers and make ears bleed, and here they are, but revised and softened to be children’s lullabies.
Elrond act normal challenge successfully failed
Elrond tries to subtly channel his Fëanorian upbringing in Imladris.... but everyone knows
So you guys think that Post-Canon Celebrimbor ever made stuff and then had to double-take when someone recognized the design from Angband?
Like,
Maedhros, squinting at a doorknob: Hey, why do we have a door from Angband in the house?
Others: what? 😀😨
Celebrimbor, who learned a better doorknob design from Annatar and never thought about the origins of the technique: …ah.
This is either crack or angst potential. Either way, I can totally see Celebrimbor making stuff, except some of it is just designs used in Angband, so every now and again Celebrimbor gets a hysterical elf trying to figure out why a stool is deeply unsettling.
Alternatively; Mordor has a coffee machine. The maker’s mark is scratched and ineligible. However, everyone knows that it’s not Sauron’s creation.
Celebrimbor and Annatar exchanged ideas in Eregion.... some of the good ones will likely have stuck in their memories
Okay this isn't mairon or adar themed idea, but please. Please 🙏🏽
would you be able to at least make a sketch of Celeborn and Galathil? The two are brothers in the Silmarilion and there is only a handful of art that have both brothers.
Here you go, anon! Celeborn yapping to Galathil about his new girlfriend for hours.
Galathil patiently listening to his brother go on and on about Alatariel (who he's given the epessë "Galadriel")
