welcome, gardeners, to the greatest twelfth event on writeblr: the jester olympics writing challenge! participating jesters will be attempting to write 50k words in one week 🤪 the closest to the goal will be crowned the new garden jester, with the reward of a stage (wip spotlight) in front of the king's audience (our 265 followers 💚)!

this event will hosted entirely on our discord server where every day we will be hosting multiple group writing sprints to encourage you to write more! the garden guards will be there along the way holding shovels to your heads to hold you accountable and providing special badges for each word count milestone you reach! you will also be awarded for keeping track of your writing in our special spreadsheet, so make sure you're writing every day- or else you miss out on cool badges 😱 we've even made a word count tracking template for you to use in any posts you may want to make throughout the event!

Zara Engelvar was never expected to do anything great with her life. She's just an intern scribe, new enough that her placement recording the history around the Firestorm is a surprise to even herself. Not that there's anything new to record about the greatest calamity to ever face the three kingdoms, which has been recorded in such detail she's beginning to think her assignment is a subtle way to drive her out of the college entirely.  So imagine her surprise when her digging uncovers a body entombed in secrecy, who wakes and introduces himself as Cillain Veras, the greatest knight to have ever been recorded in the books of history. Only, Cillian is nothing like what the history books have said him to be, and his reanimation defies every law of reincarnation Zara has ever believed in. The Firestorm has begun to expand once more, and the gods have demanded a new set of champions to save the kingdoms before they've all been scorched beyond recognition. Zara isn't sure she's prepared for this responsibility - or even wants it to begin with - and Cillian is obviously hiding something from her. But a historian traveling with history's greatest knight? It's a wealth of information Zara isn't going to pass up on, no matter what it demands of her.

• Not much writing done these past two months, on account of a lot of things happening IRL. However, I'm happy to report I'm revisiting Saintless (possibly soon to be renamed?) and other WIPs, including Burning of the Apiary.
