Very and Totally Official Blog for the Worcester Regional Transit Authority. Repping 36 cities!

Blogging from the heart (of Massachusetts!)

Heyo! I'm the RTA. Miss? Mr? Mx? You decide.

This is a blog about the WRTA, the regional transit system for Worcester, Massachusetts, and the surrounding areas. It consists only of busses (and a stop on MBTA and Amtrak train lines), but damn do those busses go!

Expect transitposting, Worcesterposting, and perhaps some Massachusettsblogging at large.

Longest running fare-free transit program in the entire nation, bitch.

Anonymous asked:

If the MBTA were truly woke it would have a rainbow line that goes to Northampton and Provincetown and the trains would be trainsgender.

Yeah a worcester line college connector and a tip of the cape extension of the flyer would both be fantastic

There already kind of IS a worcester line college connector. Our friends at the PVTA run the B79, which is a shuttle bus expressly meant to connect UMass Amherst students to Boston via the Worcester line, stopping at union station at intervals that coincide with certain runs of that train.

It's not Northampton but it IS in the 5 college area. Which I think counts enough.

Reminder to riders: our bus doors have no checkpoints, no barriers, not even a cost.

Reminder to drivers: if you see an ICE agent at one of OUR bus stops, we've recently instituted an exception to ordinances regarding driving on the sidewalk. Please be sure to check page 72 of the updated handbook.

Attention Valued Riders

We are currently addressing sightings of cats of various levels of super and evil along our service lines.

Rest assured that we are doing everything possible to AUGH HELP ME VALUED RIDERS THEY'RE IN MY NOTIFICATIONS

Attention Valued Riders

Please refrain from haunting Union Station. You are scaring the trains and it's making the other cities mad.

The busses are used to it and there will be no restrictions on haunting activities in the Hub.

As an unrelated aside, the patio of Luciano's Cotton Club is technically outside of Union Station.

Thank you for riding the WRTA. Please haunt responsibly.

Boston Massachusetts is such a fun city name to say

That area of Massachusetts has many city names that are fun to say (Allston! Brighton! Brookline! Not you, Somerville! Saugus!).

...and Worcester! :D

Worcester is definitely fun to say, but I didn't include it because I think it's too far away from Boston to be considered part of the "Boston area". Lovely town, though.

I know. I just wanted to be included. :(
