The issue with the loudest voices of the trans-movement being white

Okay, letโ€™s start with this disclaimer: if you have a problem with a black cis-man calling out racism in the transgender community, then too bad. Erin and a lot of nonblack trans activist community have already got caught up with associating with Keffels and co-signing misogynoir. Today, Iโ€™m looking out for my blackness. Fuck everybody else with the exception to Palestinians and Native Americans. Fuck everybody else tho.

The biggest issue with white trans-activists is the same with white feminists: you are white. And you underestimate how much that clouds your perspective. Looking at the comments of Erinโ€™s skeet, and itโ€™s crazy how long it takes for someone to point out that black hairstyles have been legally prohibited in workplace settings or in general. There are laws to police the way we dress still up today.

Not to mention that every non-white American racial minority can share the same stories of American society dictating social attire racially. Native Americans had their long hair cut in boarding schools aka reeducation camps. No hijabs laws were passed. I could go on.

Erin, this isnโ€™t โ€œNorth Koreanโ€ shit. This is and always has been American shit. And because of your reluctance to actually engage with anti-white supremacist movements, you say blithely racist shit like this and look like a whole ass clown.

We can talk about how you only center white transpeople, but thatโ€™s beyond my motherfucking purview aka I donโ€™t have the time and yall ainโ€™t paying me. Point is that the trans community has a racism problem and the moment anyone calls it out, there is this backlash against the(usually black) shotcallers who are also trans. Same goes with class reductionist socialists, feminists, and just about every other movement non-racism focused. Itโ€™s a fucking problem.

okay from the staircase poll i know at least a few thousand of yallre canadians

anyone else been watching "oops! all goalies"?

Theyโ€™re all so nice lmaooo. I love watching the strategy shift from โ€˜letโ€™s try and be normal hokey playersโ€™ to โ€˜what do we just toppled each other over in the most stupid ways possibleโ€™ to โ€˜who can hurl themself across the ice faster than anyone else?โ€™

it's fantastic, we're plundering the strategic depths of minds that are, in their own teams, largely all known to be the silliest fucker on the ice.

Every goalie I've ever known and heard of has had distinct unhinged jester energy.

one of my big pet peeves is when people look for 'justification' for fat characters to exist. "oh this character is a mage so they're not hauling heavy equipment and weapons so I Guess They Can Be Fat". no i think any character can be fat and we dont need to seek justification for a character to have a certain body type

i think thereโ€™s actually nothing better than being randomly told โ€œI love youโ€ after doing something characteristically stupid. Like what do you mean Iโ€™m a lovable person and I just did something silly and you thought โ€œof course you would do that. I love you.โ€. No better feeling

โ€œwhatโ€™s your dream jobโ€ im so glad you asked. picture this. i am the lone employee of a strange and mysterious tchotchke/bookshop in the middle of nowhere, full of fun and interesting things that i am allowed to take for the low low price of free of charge. i get one, exceedingly interesting, customer per hour. i work no more than twenty hours a week and am salaried 3 million dollars

One of the benefits of broadening one's horizons beyond the half-a-dozen tabletop RPGs the "play a second game" crowd predictably trots out every time the topic of alternatives to Dungeons & Dragons comes up is that no matter how weird and isolating and unrelatable you think your deal is, eventually you will bump into a game written by and for someone who has exactly the same thing wrong with them that you do.

Fun Game: Make Yourself in 3-6 Eureka Traits!

There's a bit more to Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy character creation than just picking Traits, but this is a meme not a serious character creation session.

Make yourself in three to six Eureka Traits. Here's a big list of them. This isn't literally all the Traits, just the ones that have finished art. If you want to pick from all the Traits, feel free to download the free rulebook linked above! If you want to go a little further, you can explain your reasoning for why you picked each Trait and what they mean to you and about you.

Tag us, or just reblog your results onto this post! You don't have to make yourself either, it could be a character from pop culture, your friend, your OC, whatever! We wanna see what you do with it!

List of Traits (Non-Exhaustive)

Are you thinking what I'm thinking, predictable, and it's for a book!

Not Finished Yet, Death Wish, Final Girl, Rumbler, Push It Tragic character who was meant to be a grand hero in another setting but instead has to work 9-5 and respond to work emails on the weekend

Wizened, Skeptic, Night Owl, It's for a Book, and Did You Know... i'm smart, frail, and constantly tired, but i struggle to sleep at night. i'm a professional writer and this explains many of my weirdest research topics and also results in me, y'know, retaining a lot of strange trivia on eclectic topics. and regardless of what i'm experiencing, i try to think things through logically before reacting emotionally- gotta exhaust all possible rational (and mundane) explanations before turning to the irrational and/or supernatural.
