Once again, no one is feeding Evan "food is how I express love" Buckley EXCEPT....for this guy.
i really feel so bad for the people who dont understand the allure of bucktommy. its not even that it was canon on our screens. it's that the hotspur loverboy of the 118 found solace and stability in a gruff, complicated older man.....its that the lovelorn angel-faced firefighter found true companionship in a pilot who steadied him, out-widthed him (had the same death drive as him), was an intrinsic part of the workforce that came before him, tenderly cared for him.....a taste issue really
the way buck's leading him... the way tommy follows... he'd go anywhere with him...
Tommy Kinard witnessed Buck maiming Eddie and said, i need to talk to him. He heard Buck stumble through an apology and confession that he maimed Eddie because he wanted Tommyโs attention, that he thought he was cool, that he liked his fake mouth static and how he threw in with his familyโand Tommy kissed him about it and asked him on a date. He sat through the awkward parts of their date and did everything he could to make Buck comfortable, flirted with him, and called him adorable, after the disaster. He accepted a coffee date where Buck apologized, got his coffee order wrong, invited him to his sisterโs wedding and all he said was are you absolutely sure about this? and okay. He let him vent about Gerrard, didnโt tell him to shut up or get over it and then he called him a vision in a cone. He took care of him after he dislocated his shoulder, though maybe found it silly, listened to his rambles about a curse and Billy boils. He dressed up and went with him to a funeral for a dead cowboy and looked at him like he hung the moon and all the stars and then asked Billy to lift the curse. He smiled when he saw him again and listened to his not totally coherent update on Maddie and admitted heโd been fighting the urge to call him. He slept with him on a bare mattress and then made him a breakfast feast and got champagne, and started unpacking his things because heโs only ever wanted to love and take care of this man. Tommy Kinard loves Evan Buckley not in spite of, but because of who he is.

Man I love how cool and strong that character is. Would love to see them screaming and crying in agony and or fear.
Until I Break
disclaimer: I've never fully watched Confessions, so there's a chance some stuff might be wrong here. If so, keep that secret between you and God. Thank you ๐ Also, I'm aware it's not technically bucktommy but it's about the implication.
โSo, I was thinking a dusty rose with gold accents. What do you think?โ
โUh, y- yeah, that works.โ
โI know itโs kind of basic, but those colors are put together for a reason. They really pop, especially against white tableclothes.โ
โMhm.โ
โI guess itโs a little feminine though. Especially with these doilies. Why donโt you pick out some colors and we can compromise?โ
โAbby, Iโm gay.โ The words came out in a rush. Heโd never said it out loud before, not to anyone. Never even practiced it.

This Is Not a Temporary Love
For @bucktommyfluffebruary Day 1: Non-sexual Intimacy
Tommy trails calloused fingertips across Evanโs skin, followed by feather light kisses, mapping the landmarks of ink and scar tissue.ย
Evan runs a hand through Tommyโs curls. โWhat are you doing?โ
โExploring,โ Tommy says between kisses. โAdmiring the artwork. Committing you to memory.โ
Evan hums and his eyes flutter shut as Tommy ends his journey at Evanโs birthmark, peppering kisses along his brow.
โโโ
A few nights later, Evan turns the tables of affection on him. Under Evanโs steady gaze, Tommy feels as if heโs been put under a microscope. His skin heats from Evanโs careful touches and the thought of being on display.
โWhat are you doing?โ
Evan smirks, a playful shine reflected in his eyes. โAdmiring the artwork.โ
โWhat artwork?โย
Evan smiles as he traces invisible lines across Tommyโs skin. He takes Tommyโs words for the joke they are, not the self-deprecating dig they might have once been.
โHave you ever thought about getting a tattoo?โ
โThought about it, yeah.โ
โButโฆyou havenโt wanted anything enough to make it permanent?โ
Tommy hesitates. โAre we still talking about tattoos?โ
Evan laughs. โI promise itโs not a leading question.โ
Tommy looks up at the ceiling. โI donโt like needles.โ When he looks at Evan, thereโs a soft smile on his face.
โHey, thank you for sharing that with me.โย
After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Evanโstill tracing the contours of Tommyโs bodyโasks, โwhat would you get if you could?โ
โโโ
A week later, Tommy shows up at Evanโs loft with takeout for their date night in.
He also gives Evan several packs of tattoo markers and blanket permission to use his skin as his personal canvas.
Evanโs face lights up like Tommy has given him the directions to the Lost City of Atlantis.
Between bites of Lo mein, Evan draws a fortune cookie on Tommyโs shoulder.
โWhatโs my fortune?โ
Evan looks into his eyes and says, โyou have a love that will last a lifetime.โ
Tommy admires the way the words fall so effortlessly from Evanโs lips. Itโs not casual or flippant, but confident and sureโlike heโs practiced the thought so many times, mouthing the words until his tongue memorized the shape of them.
Tommy kisses Evan, pouring all the words he doesnโt know how to express into Evanโs open, eager mouth. When they part, Tommy swipes his thumb over the sweet and sour sauce lingering on Evanโs lips.ย
โLucky me.โ
โโโ
After that night, Evan takes every opportunity to mark Tommyโs skin.
And itโs never mindless scribbling. Itโs always deliberate, if not reverent, the way Evan moves the markers over his skin. It makes Tommy feel appreciated in a way he hadnโt expected.
When theyโre watching movies together on the couch, Tommyโs feet in Evanโs lap, Evan keeps himself busy drawing comic book characters on his legs and thighs.
At the bar, surrounded by their friends and family, who watch with various expressions of confusion and amusement as Evan adds a rainbow of colors to Tommyโs skin. Maddie fondly compares it to giving Jee crayons at a restaurant to keep her entertained. Evan blushes and Tommy laughs, even if the observation misses the mark. Tommy actually likes having a language that only they understand and he thinks Evan feels the same.
In the kitchen, while waiting for dinner to be done, Evan sits him down at the island and asks him about his day, hanging onto every word Tommy says as he inks a new animal onto a different part of Tommyโs arm. First, itโs a penguin. Then a swan, a puffin, a crow.
Evan asks him one night, โdo you know what they have in common?โ
Tommy looks at the black bird on his bicep. โThey all have wings?โ
Evan gives him a look that says Tommyโs being deliberately obtuse. Heโs listened to enough of Evanโs animal facts to know theyโre all animals that mate for life.
Evan draws a wolf on Tommyโs forearm next, a challenging look in his eyes.
In between grueling shifts and the exhausting work of moving in together, Evan continues his artwork.
โโโ
Evan holds Tommyโs hand, even though he knows it canโt be comfortable given how cold and clammy it is.ย
โYou donโt have to do this,โ Evan says. โWe can buy tattoo markers. I can draw on you again if you want.โ
Tommy winces at the sound of the tattoo machine coming from the back room of the shop, but heโs determined to see it through. โNo, I want this. When I have to take off my wedding ring for work, it always feels like Iโm missing a part of me.โ
Evan ducks his head and blushes. โIf youโre sure.โ
Tommy squeezes his hand. โIโm sure.โ

This is from that fic I started writing out of nowhere a couple of weeks ago. I can't tell you where it's going, but the ride's been a friggin' blast.

"Um, not to be completely paranoidโwhatever you do, do not lookโbut I think we're being followed."
If someone had said those exact words to Buck, he would've immediately started looking around, and then called Eddie to shout about evil spies until the general manager kicked him out. He'd no doubt get his ass black bagged and shoved into an unmarked van the second he hit the parking lot, because Buck is many things and circumspect has never been one of them.
Tommy, on the other hand, doesn't so much as glance up from the display of mangos he's been studying with the kind of focus usually reserved for experiments at CERN.
"Calm down. Hey, your sister liked that salsa I brought to Howie's birthday, right?"
When they finally sat down and drew up the proverbial roadmap of what getting back together would look like, one of Buck's non-negotiables was that Tommy wasn't allowed to be a patronizing dick without just cause. Buck had spent the last thirty-some-odd years being treated like the world's biggest little boy by almost everyone in his life, and he refused to tolerate it from someone who supposedly wanted to build a future with him. Tommy had sworn he would never purposely make Buck feel like that ever again, and yet here they are, standing in the produce section of Ralphs while Buck feels like he's just been promised a candy bar if he can be a good boy all the way to the checkout counter.
He's working up to a really good, righteous snit when Tommy continues, almost breezily, "I know they're there, Evan. Don't look back at them, okay? Just... act normal. Pick up some fruit."
Heart pounding hard enough to crack a rib, Buck stares at him with eyes that feel like they're the size of dinner plates and croaks out, "Hey, handsome. Come here often?"

finally found a future 10k post in the wild
My controversial opinion is that I do actually get why Tommy thinks he's just this shiny new toy in Buck's life and that Buck will eventually get tired of him and find a new one.
So much of how we know Buck feels about Tommy is conveyed to other characters and not Tommy himself. Buck shows how possessive he already is of Tommy when talking to Maddie and gets all happy when she asks Buck to tell her about Tommy. Buck tells Eddie that he can't stop thinking about Tommy. Buck tells Josh he can see a future with Tommy and that Tommy's needs are as important as Buck's own and that he thinks about Tommy when he isn't there.
Tommy never hears any of this. Buck never tells him on-screen.
id: a tweet from pop tingz. "max announces the release of the 'luigi mangione: the ceo killer' documentary on february 17th."
hey! just a reminder this alleged "ceo killer" hasn't been convicted of anything, hasn't even gone to trial, was taken into custody without being dna tested or fingerprinted (what fingerprints they did find near the scene were entirely circumstantial), didn't have any contact with legal rep before his extradition hearing, and wasn't identified as a facial match by the fbi's top notch ai software. just don't watch this doc, it's bound to be full of bullshit just like tmz.
Someone throw the no hate watching meme on here.
