You're still munching on the tiramisu that Matt made, unable to get sick of the flavor. When you said you'd kiss him for making it—You were serious. If he made dark chocolate crossiants, you probably would've fell to your knees and proposed right there.
You thought people who stressed bake were a myth, but you were proven very wrong after meeting Matt.
Matt bakes when he gets stressed. You just check how much more space you have on your ears for more piercings.
You put down the container of tiramisu when you hear the door open, putting on your costume voice. "Hi— Oh, Chris?"
He laughs, "Dude, you have tiramisu like everywhere," He gestures to your lips, "It's really good." You say, muffled by your hand as you wipe at your lips. "Where'd ya get it?"
"Matt made it." He blinks. Once, then twice. "Matt made it?" You nod, "He said he stressed baked."
Chris's eyebrows furrow in confusion. "I don't.."
The confusion is mutual. "What?"
"Matt doesn't like bitter things."
"Like he hates bitter things. He thinks all deserts should be sweet, and he never makes tiramisu—" He says quickly, taking a breath, "He always complains about how it takes whenever he makes it."
It takes you a minute to process his words. "Huh."
"Maybe he made it for you." Chris shouldn't have that said because your heart falls to your ass. Did he? I mean, would it be so bad to think so? You don't remember exactly telling Matt that you like bitter things expect that text, but you do yap a lot, so mayb—
He tilts his head. "You look like you saw a ghost."
You bite your lip, copying his head tilt. "Do..do you really think so?" He nods, "Knowing Matt when he has crush? Probably."
It's your turn to blink multiple times, "What'd you say?" His eyes widen. "I've said too much."
"Chris—" And it's then when you're trying to get Chris to explain whatever the hell he meant, when Matt walks in.
"Um," His eyebrows immediately furrow as he watches Chris walk out, "What's up with him?"
Usually, you love seeing Matt. Love seeing him all pretty in his green sweaters, but now you feel like throwing up. He immediately feels the tension in the air, "Did he say something to you?"
"U-uh— Well... yeah." You mumble, hands reaching up to play with your conch piercing. "Wh—" You quickly interrupt him, "Did you make that tiramisu for me?"
"H-huh?" You swallow hard. Words getting stuck in your throat, "Did you make that tiramisu for me? Just for me?"
He quickly turns a shade of red doctors would find concerning. "I— you said that you dont like sweet things, and you've been working really hard lately so—" He speaks so fast you barely catch his words. But when they do settle in, your heart almost bursts out of his chest.
The cute plant shop owner you've been staying up late talking to for weeks, texting, on call with has a crush on you.
God bless Chris and his big mouth. You smile at him, "It's really good, Matt."
"Y-yeah?" He stutters out, "It- it- took a long time to make, I'm glad you like it."
"I'll like anything you make." You answer truthfully. He playfully rolls his eyes. "You're buttering me up. You must want more free flowers, huh?"
"And if I do?" You tilt your head at him, batting your lashes. He flushes, straightening up. "I'll be right back."
