🎤 We Spoke With the Cast of Iyanu—Here’s Why This Show Feels Different

Okay, let’s talk about it.

We just dropped our interview with the voice cast of the Iyanu animated series, and y’all—it’s giving legacy. It’s giving culture. It’s giving “Black kids deserve to see themselves as heroes.”

✨ Serah Johnson (Iyanu), Adesua Etomi-Wellington (Olori), and Stella Damasus (Sewa) sat down with us to talk about what makes Iyanu more than just another animated show. Spoiler alert: it’s rooted in Nigerian mythology, crafted with care, and made to be watched by the whole family.

🗣️ “Representation matters.” 🧡 “Take up space.” 👑 “This isn’t just a unicorn—we need more shows like this.”

This is Black storytelling at its best, and we’re proud to be part of the conversation. 👀 Watch the full interview:  📺 Iyanu premieres April 5 on Cartoon Network. Streaming on Max April 6.

The first three episodes of Iyanu will premiere TOMORROW on April 5 at 9:30am on Cartoon Network!

Please give this show some love and support by watching it.

Watched the first three on dvr then again on MAX.

It is 👩🏾‍🍳💋 as a Naija 🇳🇬 is is so cool seeing your heritage and culture on screen. Has a bit Avatar TLA vibes with the art style, mixed with traditional Yoruba sculptures and carvings. But not the puppet Oba having my nickname😅. Highly recommend.

Only thing is I need gifs🥹 please and thank you

Strong progressive parties with engaged labor unions are the best defense against fascism.

Corporate tyranny is the enemy. Billionaire overlords want you destitute.

Get the guillotines!

They are burning whole Tesla dealerships over there. Now it here. Slowly but surely France has rubbed off on some Americans. Just need to start rounding them up next.

Hilarious watching people whose financial stability depends on generating hateful content about Meghan, HAVE to watch her Netflix show in order to pay their bills. Jokes on you
