How is it anime awards season already????

Also is it just me or are there so little top tier anime on the lists this year??? Like fr what happened in 2024? There are obvi the continuing anime but in regards to new, or at least even in the continuing there's just not the same amount of wow factor that makes it difficult to choose like the last 5yrs or so. Yeah there's some great bangers like Elusive samurai, DDD, Solo, ect but is it just me? Have I just not been keeping up with good new anime? I've been watching more stuff thats already been released/completed time ago, but even the nominees in most categories just feel so lost? Like I've barely heard anyone talk ab these anime? I feel like the last year or two has just been an overflow of Isekai/fantasy with paragraph-names and I'm not saying they're not good, but it's a dime a dozen out there

Well at least this is motivation for me to binge watch Kaiju 8 asap since it's a nominee in alot of the categories and I want to watch it before I start making desicisons 🧡
