I love Castlevania, but it really drops the ball when it comes writing SA story lines. Neither Hector or Alucards trauma is acknowledged, especially in regards to Lenore who gets “redeemed” in the eyes of the narrative, further contributing to the idea that rapists deserve forgiveness. The show does so many things so well, so it’s extremely disappointing when they do such a poor job with sensitive topics like rape or SA. (Knew this was a good blog you acknowledged how Lenore sucks,)

AGREED. not only does it “forgive” a rapist, there’s also the underlying message that when women are the rapists it’s not “as bad”, given how hector still clearly liked lenore after all and how she could even choose her death. her actions were horrible and should’ve been treated as such. the show shouldn’t have tried to sugarcoat her.

hm… i don’t really agree with that?? it’s alucard who said he wanted to make the castle his grave. trevor offered him the belmont hold to give him a new motivation to live - keep the knowledge of his family and of his father safe. it’s alucard who wanted to cage himself in the first place and he never mentioned the wish to go anywhere else, at least at that time.

wanted to add to that by saying that sometimes undressing at all is a trigger, and tbh seeing your response i feel like the s3 castlevania team had so many misses it's almost like they missed on purpose

i feel that they either missed on purpose or that castlevania was supposed to be longer than 4 seasons, but for some reason they had to finish it all in s4 and didn’t have time to fully develop everything that was set up. that’s my best guess, it makes sense to me
