  1. I saw 12 including 11 of top 12. 10s and favorites: oceans 11 and oceans 13. 9s and favorites : mash, oceans 12. no hidden gems. not a fan, I agree with joel. I loved mash the movie and the first cast mash television. then the television version lost Stephenson and rogers and the magic .

  2. HI BRUCE Thanks for the feedback.

    I think that Joel’s suggestion that Elliot achieved ‘super stardom’ for even a while is a bit of an exaggeration [but then even The Master can’t be right all the time!!!!]. I suppose though in the end it comes down to how one defines super stardom.

    For me the superstars are the likes of The Duke, Gable and Tracy in the old days and Hanks, Willis and Cruise nowadays and certainly Elliot was never in those leagues. It says it all in fact in that respect that he was (1)mentioned nowhere in your own Top 25 Male Legends 1950-2010 (2) excluded from your list of those who were closely considered for inclusion in that list (3) ignored completely among even the honorable mentions on page 16 of your book.

    In fact I prefer your own assessment of Elliot’s career to that of Hirsch. Sorry I never got around to sending you and Babs a wedding present. Anyway take care.
