There are a few wikidata items that detail each point scored in the match. This is mainly on big matches like world cup finals. The use of points/goal scored by (P1363) however restricts this to point scoring events, and only events involving a player. By creating a more general "match event" property, we can include other events that happen in a match, such as yellow/red card events, or any event in a match that has an item.

This will also require creating a "player" property (which will have uses not just here but on team items), which I will propose if this sees support.

I have a feeling this might just warrant renaming and expanding points/goal scored by (P1363), but that property may have uses outside of this proposal that I'm not thinking of. Supertrinko (talk) 02:04, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

 Comment As I already wrote on the sports portal page, there is actually already a property that can be used for such modeling. This is the property significant event (P793). Therefore, from my point of view, this proposed property is not necessary. --Gymnicus (talk) 11:59, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

With the property significant event (P793) there is currently a very good way of representing this fact, so this property would only be doubled over. It is for this reason that I conclude the discussion on this proposed property here. --Gymnicus (talk) 14:19, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
