Dash in Career record of tennis player

Hi, following this Talk section I'd like to avoid next reverting. So, I repeat the question: Is there any reason to have hyphen "330-215", instead of correct dash "330–215"? Right record we can see in articles: 2014 Roger Federer tennis season, Jana Novotná (en iw) vs wrong from WD in Jana Novotná (cs iw). Best regards--Kacir (talk) 17:16, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think that it depends of language which is the correct mark between those numbers. It may be that I remember wrong, but somehow I remember that someone said it's possible to change those marks locally (from "-" to ":" etc.) using some module. Anyway, we should only use either "-" (it's easy to write) or "–" (most used on Wikipedia). --Stryn (talk) 21:43, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know any language, where hyphen is correct form, though may be, exists. BTW, hyphen was the reason, why English Wiki didn't accept P564 from WD. Updating of records is concerned only numbers, no mark. There is no problem. I have asked mate to create module for local cs iw and it should be possible to do that.--Kacir (talk) 19:05, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Stryn, Kacir: Wikipedia templates can use something like Template:Replace (Q12469852). But I do not think that this is efficient way. Many templates in different wikies will have same code. "–" allow to avoid additional code in wiki templates. But you are right, "-" is easier to write. To minimize this issue I can schedule bot task that will replace "-" to "–" continuously. — Ivan A.
