Conventions
[edit]There are various conventions for the names and ranges of the coordinates. I picked a particular one to illustrate this item with formulas. If there's a wish to treat also the other conventions (see for instance the MathWorld article), then for each convention a separate item should be created, naming the convention, variable names and ranges, and linking to appropriate coordinates (potentially with different items for different coordinate range conventions).
