Le Wikiprojet Récits de voyage propose d'éditer dans Wikidata les ouvrages relatant des voyages, expéditions ou explorations.

L'objectif est de proposer à lire ; ainsi pour chaque livre est associé dans la mesure du possible une édition, soit dans le domaine public accessible en ligne, soit avec un identifiant ISBN pour pouvoir la retrouver ailleurs (bibliothèque, librairie, site de partage...).

Pour la création ou l'enrichissement des livres et éditions, nous pouvons nous appuyer sur le projet [Wikidata:WikiProject_Books WikiProject_Books] tant pour le modèle pseudo-FRBR distinguant livre et édition, que pour les propriétés bibliographiques. De la même façon, pour certains ouvrages dont la seule édition disponible est l'édition originale, un seul item livre/édition peut convenir ; exemple Voyage aux îles Mangareva (Océanie) (Q22670972).
