Motivation

[edit]

This is modeled after CRAN project (P5565) View with SQIDView profile on Scholia, with the main difference being that Bioconductor assigns DOIs — i.e. DOI (P356) View with SQIDView profile on Scholia — to its entries, so a dedicated property for Bioconductor packages may not be strictly necessary but given the large number of items that have DOIs and are not Bioconductor packages, it would be more convenient for curation, exploration and maintenance. Of note, Bioconductor discourages double hosting, so for any point in time (or for any release), there is no or nearly no overlap to packages hosted on CRAN.  Support Bioconductor is extremely important for the life sciences, good to have it linked to Wikidata in a better, standardized way. TiagoLubiana (talk) 12:03, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
