Motivation
[edit]Notified participants of WikiProject Authority control Slovak national bibliographic database of editorial activity by Slovak university; it contains high quality data about Slovak researches and institutions (mainly research institutions), plus data about researchers and research institutions outside Slovakia which have collaborated with Slovak ones. Epìdosis 13:30, 5 August 2021 (UTC) P.S. Entities have two identifiers, one ID of a few numbers and a SID of 24 hexa characters, respectively 26 hexa characters, both numbers and capital letters; I have proposed the SID, since it is presented as "trvalý odkaz" ("permanent link")

- Oppose seems to be two properties for the same identifier. --- Jura 08:05, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Jura1: Not sure what you mean: there are many similar cases (e.g. P7035 and P7036; P8122 and P8123; P6715 and P8356 and P8357; P9015 and P9016 and P9017 and P9018 and P9019; etc.). Which formatter URL would a single property have? --Epìdosis 10:52, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Not sure if I was clear.
The first sample you gave are two distinct types of identifiers: TuttoCalciatori.net coach ID (P7035) is numeric and TuttoCalciatori.net player ID (P7036) is a string.
Here the values have the same format and are unique across both proposals. It happens once in a while that we create the several properties for the same identifier and eventually delete them. Sample: Property:P8510, Property:P9099, Property:P9127. --- Jura 11:16, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Jura1: Yes, first example wasn't in fact pertinent. But I think the case is very similar to the other examples: the IDs have the same format, but the formatter URL is different; it seems a common practice to create different IDs in such cases. Could you give a unique formatter URL which would unify the two proposals? --Epìdosis 12:01, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Even DLL Catalog author ID (P8122) and DLL Catalog work ID (P8123) seem distinct (Annn and Wnnn) even though one property could probably handle both. That not all properties are defined in an ideal way or that a formatter url appears or disappears isn't that important. "CREPČ person ID" is really "CREPČ ID for persons". --- Jura 12:12, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Jura1: Would you then propose https://app.crepc.sk/?fn=detail$1 as formatter URL and IDs like "AutorForm&sid=502CD2BEFE4C860B001D18E448" or "InstitutionForm&sid=BE900B18EDFBB358B1B11D3D"? In my opinion, this would mean storing not-so-useful parts as IDs and would not allow using value-type constraint (unless through complex constraints), thus making the identifier less simple for users adding it. --Epìdosis 15:12, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- I think you got the identifier values correctly formatted ([0-9A-F]{24}). It's possible that a formatter url is currently not available or we don't known it. --- Jura 19:09, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

- @Epìdosis, Jura1: Information: More than the P1630 and the identifiers, the types of identifiers are different. In addition, the links formed are permalinks. They are completed by the type (institution, person), before and after the identifiers. Apparently the P1630s only take these forms. For example: https://app.crepc.sk/?fn=detailAutorFormChildO3CO3&sid=0E8977C560C30076191C2DC9C9&seo=CREP%C4%8C-detail-osoby, where "osoby" is only suitable for one person (for an institution, the URL takes another form). So
detailAutorForm
anddetailInstitutionForm
are clearly not part of the identifier. So I created the properties. —Eihel (talk) 01:11, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
