Motivation
[edit]See related proposal Wikidata:Property proposal/CofE archives ID
The Church of England's National Church Institutions’ Archives and Manuscripts Catalogue contains detailed records of half a million archive items, including ~34,000 manuscript items in the Lambeth Palace Library (Q30264838). Its names database contains identifiers for ~25K significant persons, "corporations" (organizations including current and former parishes and manors), and families related to items in the archives. - PKM (talk) 20:44, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit](Note: property was originally proposed as "Archives and Manuscripts Catalogue name ID")
- Support as proposer - PKM (talk) 20:44, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
- Strong support Looks very useful indeed. Entries seem well-sourced, and frequently highly detailed and expansive, including cross-linking information. Would be a very valuable addition. Note that despite the range of ID forms, a search for '*' seems to return everything, so information should be readily retrievable. My only quibble would be the property name, which IMO needs to be both snappier and more specific. Perhaps "CofE archives name ID". But the exact label is something that can be evolved. For the present let's get this created and into MnM a.s.a.p. Jheald (talk) 22:08, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
- Comment I would be totally happy with "CofE archives name ID" for the property name. - PKM (talk) 22:46, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
