Motivation
Reports like Wikidata:Database reports/Constraint violations/Mandatory constraints/Violations are too long. Project-related lists will be more efficient. — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 09:48, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
Discussion
- Support better than P4570 (P4570) David (talk) 10:41, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- Comment If doing any kind of automated things based on this property data (e.g. posting report to talk page, etc), I think we need to specify language edition. Because each projects are working generally independently. So what do you think about using qualifier like this...? --Was a bee (talk) 12:51, 29 April 2018 (UTC)

- I will use the property inside Wikidata project only for now. Your suggestion is good if it will be used for another projects. — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 19:23, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- Oh I see. This would be good and useful property. Thank you for answer. Support --Was a bee (talk) 06:25, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
- User:Ivan A. Krestinin I don't think those qualifiers are necessary. A bot (or human) can read the item about the WikiProject and look at the sitelinks. Deryck Chan (talk) 10:46, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose; we can use facet of (P1269) to the same effect. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:05, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- encoded by (P702)facet of (P1269)molecular biology (Q7202), not encoded by (P702)facet of (P1269)WikiProject Molecular and Cell Biology (Q15884967). — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 19:17, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- Wouldn't it be sufficient to have encoded by (P702)facet of (P1269)molecular biology (Q7202) and molecular biology (Q7202)P4570WikiProject Molecular and Cell Biology (Q15884967)? --Pasleim (talk) 12:23, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
- P4570 (P4570) is looked related to discussed purpose. But why P4570 (P4570) has URL type? — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 21:09, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
@Pigsonthewing: The scope of encoded by (P702) is limited to genes. I don't think it should be extended to cover this usage. Deryck Chan (talk) 10:28, 2 August 2018 (UTC)- Nor do I; that's not what I've proposed. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:47, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Pigsonthewing: I apologize. How do you intend to use facet of (P1269) to achive the purpose of this property proposal? Deryck Chan (talk) 11:10, 3 August 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose I strongly welcome the use case for this property but we already have P4570 (P4570). If the existing property does not suite the needs, it should be modified instead. -- JakobVoss (talk) 09:21, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
- P4570 (P4570) has URL type instead of item. There is no way to modify existing property type. The only way is create new property and delete old after it. — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 12:04, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
- The right way would be to discuss at Property talk:P4570 first. The property is used less than 200 times - if someone can provide a list to replace existing statements with statements using the new property, we can create a new property and the existing statements can be replaced in one batch. -- JakobVoss (talk) 19:41, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

- Comment @Ivan A. Krestinin: I think it would be a good thing to come up with reports per Wikiproject. As many items are about people, it could help if maintenance reports for things like P569 would be added to these based on occupation or some other criterion.

- Support. This allows the relationship represented by P4570 (P4570) to be broadened to all WikiProjects. I agree that the link between a topic item and a WikiProject that works on the topic should have its own property, separate from those about other technical literature. Deryck Chan (talk) 10:28, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- Comment marginally related: soon Listeria should be able to generate constraint violation reports.

@Ivan A. Krestinin, Was a bee, Pigsonthewing, Pasleim, Deryck Chan:@JakobVoss, Jura1: Done There is a general consensus to create this property and to delete P4570 (P4570) (English label: "Wikidata project"). See the deletion discussion for more details.--Micru (talk) 10:33, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- So this got created. I propose a plan of action:
- For all WikiProjects currently used as values of P4570 (P4570), link them to items as sitelinks
- Create equivalent maintained by WikiProject (P6104) statements for existing P4570 (P4570)
- Then remove all P4570 (P4570) statements and delete P4570.
