Hi, after severals talks with @Moebeus, (in the project talk page and this one, now closed), I propose a list of changes to apply in the descriptions of project. Some of them are to upgrade or clarify the current text. Additionaly, I also include new aspects not considered until now in the project that produced to me doubts about how to proceed with them. Fortunately, most of them have been answered by Moebeus and we only need to document and share with project participants.
To make it easier to understand the relationships between entities, I have prepared a graph that, once revised, could be part of the documentation.
Finally, I apport a list of further actions to do in the WD content in order to align or to fix the present information with the new schema.

PRESENT VERSION Note that most items do not yet use such a specific ontology as described in this table. In particular, items about songs are likely to be about both the composition and track; items about singles are likely to conflate the single release and the track; and items about albums may also include identifiers for individual versions of the album.
If a Wikipedia article is about a single with only one track, or mainly discusses one track of that single, then it should be connected to the item about the composition. Otherwise, it should be connected to the item about the release. |

- 2. In person & group sections
- Define clearly which property to use for person in a music group: member of (P463) or part of (P361). I propose P361, because is the inverse property of P527, which is the only option for group item to list its components.
- Add property critical catalogue (P9969), specially applicable to classical music.
- 3. In composition section
- Exchange P31 = musical work (Q2188189) to musical work/composition (Q105543609). It's more accurate and because the composition identificators claims were already moved from the Q2188189 to Q105543609.
- Do not suggest to use its subclasses (song (Q7366), concerto (Q9748), etc.). Instead, add property form of creative work (P7937) (see https://w.wiki/5Q86 for values used)
- Improve definition to avoid overlapping or missuse among part of the series (P179), part of (P361) and catalog (P972) :
- When a composition is included in a catalog we must use catalog code (P528) + catalog (P972) instead of part of the series (P179) or part of (P361)
- Missuse example: the +600 items with P361=The Online Thematic Catalogue of Lully Keyboard Arrangements (Q106828565).
- They are not incompatible among them, but P179 and P361 should be used for the purposes described below.
- part of (P361). To be used when a musical work/composition is part of another musical work/composition. For instance
- aria (Q178122) >> Libiamo ne' lieti calici (Q2603520) is part of La traviata (Q186162)
- Elements of song cycle (Q893466) >> Was weinst du, Blümlein (Q110420090) is a lieder part of 6 Lieder aus Jucunde, Op. 23 (Q97192858)
- movement (Q929848) >> 1. Poco sostenuto - Vivace (Q19371593) is part of Symphony No. 7 (Q260957)
- Gnossienne #7 (Q110185097) is included as a part of (P361) Le Fils des étoiles (Q24965399) and Trois morceaux en forme de poire (Q3540015)
- part of the series (P179). It is used to indicate that the composition is part of a group for reasons of classification, categorization, etc., whether it has been done by the author or by a later criterion.
- It may have qualifier: series ordinal (P1545), follows (P155), followed by (P156).
- The P31 of the serie item should be musical series (Q24992028). Applying this criterion may require review and changing some "series" identified now as P31 = cycle (Q245596).
- Examples: pieces with P179= 8 Concert Studies (Q56480716), Organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach (Q362619), or Gnossiennes (Q2602501), which includes the Gnossienne #7 (Q110185097) that is also " part of" composition, as may see above.
- When a composition is included in a catalog we must use catalog code (P528) + catalog (P972) instead of part of the series (P179) or part of (P361)
- There are large group of items with mixed information: musical work/composition (Q105543609) & incompatibles P31, as released. It must be corrected.
- 3.1 Special case Anthems.
- national anthem (Q23691) are a compositions that represents a country or sovereign state (or regional). One composition may be shared by several countries and may change along time. Therefore, as Moebeus suggested in the project talk page, the information on the anthem-territories where used relationship and its chronology, should be in the item of the country/region/etc. instead of being properties of the anthem items. Actually, I check that information in country items are richer than in anthem compositions (and not allways the same)
- So, the pourpose is to do not use information about P17, P155, P156 in anthem item and get this information via backlink (as in https://w.wiki/5KaC).
- 4. In tracks section
- Add property recording date (P10135), recently created.
- Add property recording or performance of (P2550), the link to composition.
- 5. New "Release Group"
- Any release -described in 5. section- may have one or more "versioned releases" of it, with different format, re-edition, etc.
- This new entity allows to handle these album release (Q108352648), single release (Q108352496) and extended play release (Q108346556), which are linked to the original release through the release of (P9831).

- 6. In release section
- Define clearly the meaning and use of release of (P9831). >>> See. section 6. "Release Group"
- Define which must be the qualifier of tracklist (P658) to fit the "track number". Now are a mix of series ordinal (P1545), or object of statement has role (P3831), or both.
- Change follows (P155), followed by (P156) to be qualifier of part of the series (P179)
- Add the "videos of live concerts" case, a release that is not a collection of tracks, but just one recording with several musical performance (Q6942562). It would contains: + + optionally, one played within the vídeo, as happen in events (see ex.: 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (Q643937)).
- Should composer (P86) & lyricist (P676) be in release items ?. It seems a redundancy to avoid get from composition (two steps away). In case of accept a redundancy, could be better at track level
* In release items with
, would interest to have the associated movie. However, there is not inverse property for soundtrack release (P406) which link movie with its music. Following the solution done in several albums, we may propose to used music created for (P9899).

- 7. New "Unrecorded performance"
- It includes ancient performed that were not recorded, live performance in any kind of event, festival, etc.
- As a performance of composition, its structure is similar to a track, but without properties related with the recording.
- It may be a part of a setlist (P9793) of a musical performance (Q6942562) event, but it cannot be a part of tracklist (P658) in a recorded release (àlbum, single, etc.). Ex.:YMG (Q106806280); Super Bowl LIII halftime show (Q56289826)
- These properties may apply to items with instance of (P31) of performed music (Q106805967) or their subclasses.

[edit]- 1. Review and reconfigure items musical performance (Q6942562) and musical interpretation (Q1668139).
- The english label seems to point to "play & sing act" in the first case; and the figurative interpretation of the composition by each interpreter in second one. However, the claims and WP articles linked doesn't match, or seems be exchanged to each other in some cases.
- 2. Make the changes derivated from above definitions

To change P361 or P463, after deciding on the proposal:
