And no one seems to be picking up on their sarcasm.

It’s been 10 years since the first Twilight movie came out, but Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson simply cannot move on from it. That’s because no one will stop asking the actors whether they want to do a reboot. They’ve both been indie film stars longer than they were teen icons, and even though the news cycle moves faster than you clicked on this story, no one is letting Stewart and Pattinson let go of their breakthrough roles, despite the fact that their post-Twilight careers have been one long effort to distance themselves from teen fare. Stewart and Pattinson are fully aware of this and that’s why, at this point, they’re just trolling reporters over it.

“I never thought I would ask this question, but Robert Pattinson was here earlier this week at the Toronto International Film Festival and said he would like to revisit Edward in Twilight,” an intrepid Entertainment Tonight reporter asks Stewart, as she’s standing next to Laura Dern. “Would you ever go back? Would you ever want to return to that role?”

Stewart’s answer is perfect: “Oh, yeah sure,” she says with a laugh, anxiously rocking.

“Yeah?” the reporter attempts to clarify.

“Yes, absolutely,” Stewart says, her poker face intact. “Honestly. Start sending scripts my way. Let’s start building this. Let’s really explore [it].”

“I was excited,” Dern says after hearing Stewart’s answer, acknowledging that she thinks her Jeremiah Terminator LeRoy costar is being serious. Stewart consoles her and then grants the reporter an earnest answer when he wonders if Twilight feels like a lifetime ago. “Yeah, truly,” she says, adding, “On one hand, it’s 10 years ago—it’s wild, it’s surreal to think about that—but on the other, my memories are still so close to me, it doesn’t feel like a lifetime ago, necessarily. It’s trippy.”

Pattinson had the same sense of humor when asked recently if there’s any truth to Twilight reunion rumors. “Really, they’re expanding it? So I’ll get my own spin-off?” he sarcastically asked Yahoo, before piling on the troll: “I’m always kind of curious. Anything where there’s a mass audience—or seemingly an audience for it—I always like the idea of subverting people’s expectations. There could be some radical way of doing it, which could be quite fun. It’s always difficult when there’s no source material.” He then noted how different his career is these days, saying, “I’m doing more parts that just sort of interest me, while in a lot of ways taking a little bit of a step back to learn and get better.”

If there ever was such a Twilight reboot, there’s no doubt that these two would subvert people’s expectations.
